Regulatory Updates

OSHA's Silica Webpage Updated

The updated silica web page has all the information on silica hazards and related OSHA standards in one location. The web page contains links to guidance on complying with OSHA's silica standards in both construction and general industry and maritime, as well as information on silica sampling and analysis, health effects of silica exposure, and answers to frequently asked questions. OSHA began enforcing most provisions of the standard for construction on September 23, 2017, and will begin enforcing most provisions of the standard for general industry and maritime on June 23, 2018.

PHASE Associates has conducted exposure monitoring and sampling for respirable silica for some of our clients.  Please feel free to contact PHASE Associates with any questions regarding this subject.
Employee Spotlight

Congratulations to Ken Bickerton, CIH, CSP and Vice President of PHASE Associates for celebrating 25 years as a a health and safety professional with extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of  Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Health and Safety. Ken has been with PHASE Associates for over 14 years. He supervises and provides guidance regarding industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, construction safety, health, safety and environmental training projects for all of our clients. Most notably, Ken is known as a Diacetyl expert within the Flavor and Fragrance industries and has assisted as an expert witness in Diacetyl related litigation. He is an OSHA certified trainer for the 10-Hour and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety class and teaches other various OSHA health and safety training courses.
