OHSU Hospital Expansion Project Update
In November 2018, City of Portland responded to OHSU regarding a pre-application conference that was held
to discuss the plans for a new 14 story hospital expansion. There are three application phases to this large project. Pre-Application, Design and Land Use review, and the permitting phase.
In the initial pre-ap phase, the city required that OHSU submit the scope of a Traffic Impact Study. OHSU has done that and the Neighborhood Association responded asking that the scope be expanded.
Letter from Homestead NA
OHSU's consultant completed traffic counts last week. The counts will be used to support traffic analysis that will be included in a land use application, which will likely be submitted by late April or early May.
The next phase of the hospital expansion will be the Design and Land use Review. This phase will focus on the structure and footprint, the façade and access. The Homestead Land Use Committee will preview a draft of the façade, site placement, and access to and from the site the last week in March before the plans are submitted to the city possibly in June.
The final phase will be the permitting phase when OHSU has responded to the city's pre-application requests, design review is complete and all review requirements have been met. The projected date for permit submittal is November 2019 with a targeted construction start date of March 2020 and a completion date of approximately July 2023.

Tri-Met - SW Connector Survey
The Southwest Corridor Light Rail Project will include a connection from the Gibbs Street MAX Station on Barbur Boulevard to Marquam Hill. This short distance up the steep hill requires some combination of pathways and mechanical facilities, such as an elevator, to make the connection.
From Tri-Met Survey:
"As we begin to look at connector options, we need your feedback. Take a
short survey and tell us what's most important for choosing the type of connector.
