Guatemala Volcano: Entire Villages Buried in Toxic Ash

Ongoing lava flows are prompting new evacuations.

Over 2 million people have been affected, hundreds of people are missing, at least 109 deaths have been confirmed. Entire villages have been wiped out and lava flows are prompting more evacuations.

The land will be unusable for years to come.

Since 2004, RWF has been funding humanitarian work and delivering medicines and medical equipment to Guatemala. Right now we are working with our in-country partners to provide emergency aid to the survivors.

JUNE 24: SAN FRANCISCO PRIDE - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - HELP LGBTQ REFUGEES

RWF's Rainbow Bus will be parked in the Castro at Jane Warner Plaza (the mini urban park in front of the Twin Peaks Bar at Castro St @ Market St) from 10 am to 7 pm. The Bus has a lounge interior and will be open up for visitors.

Volunteer: We are looking for a few more volunteers to be hosts in the bus' lounge and at our information table on Sunday, June 24. Shifts start at 10 am and go to 7 pm. This is a great alternative way to volunteer at Pride.

The Rainbow lounge will be open noon to 7pm.

Throughout Pride week, we will be raising funds to help LGBTQ refugees from Iraq and Syria.

RWF provides emergency air transportation and living assistance to LGBTQ refugees escaping Iraq and Syria who face imminent threats in their homelands.

Many of the people that RWF has helped have been granted asylum and have relocated to Europe and the U.S. We hope to help even more of our brothers and sisters. Your gift of $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or more can literally save a life in the Middle East.

Be sure to stop by the bus and get a Rainbow Pride bracelet.

In Solidarity,

J eff Cotter,
Executive Director
