Due to the Coronavirus and necessary safety precautions enacted by Governor Lujan Grisham, Partners in Education operations have moved remotely, with staff working from home on our behind-the-scenes work, including grant writing and annual planning. We are also maintaining contact with classroom teachers, teaching artists, and our community partners.
We miss seeing everyone's faces and connecting in person, but we are buoyed by the fact that our in-person work will continue once it is safe again to do so.

Shout-Out To Teachers!
Our intrepid SFPS teachers are adapting to the new distance learning now that school buildings are closed for the rest of this school year. We admire their dedication and creativity - especially in the midst of uncertainty - as they chart these new waters and simultaneously guide their students.
Providing a sense of structure, reliability, and comfort to our community's youth at such a needed time, these teachers are our heroes! We are grateful for them and the hard work they've put in adjusting their classes to distance learning.

We are hard at work on our Art & Poetry Anthology! It's giving us extra life this year as we review the stunning work emerging from Teaching Artist Joan Logghe's classroom workshops. We still intend to print a book when that option is available. In the meantime, we're creating a digital version that will be distributed as well as accessed on our website.
While we had originally planned our student art exhibit at the New Mexico Museum of Art for early May, that will not be possible now that the students aren't going back to their physical classrooms this year. Instead, we are exploring the possibility of a virtual student art exhibit which would be accessed online via the Museum - stay tuned for developments!

ArtWorks makes the arts personally meaningful to over 1,800 public school students and teachers through an integrated program of art-making, viewing live performancesand exhibits, and achieving understanding through inquiry and reflection.

Through the generosity of donors like you, classroom teachers receive grants for innovative, curriculum-based projects. Partners in Education awards over $50,000 to about 60 teachers each year.
Partners in Education also honors seven Santa Fe Public School teachers each year with the Teachers Who Inspire awards.
