City Council Meeting
Library System Improvements
The City of Menlo Park's library system consists of the main library and the Belle Haven branch. The City is planning for new library facilities at both its main and branch locations. The planning process began with input received during the Library’s Departmental review in 2015, continued with its Strategic Plan in 2016, and moved forward in 2017 with the Space Needs Assessment for the main library and the Belle Haven Neighborhood Library Needs Assessment.

The Belle Haven Branch Library Improvements and the Main Library Improvements are part of the City Council’s Work Plan that was approved on February 6, 2018. The City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 22 at 6 pm at the City Council Chambers will approve the next steps for library system improvements.

"The New Grid: 100% Clean Energy for All"
Sila Kiliccote will offer a free public lecture titled The New Grid: 100% Clean Energy for All at  SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory  on  Tuesday, May 29 at 7:30 pm in the Panofsky Auditorium/Science and User Support Building (BLDG 53).

The grid that transmits our electrical power needs a radical transformation. The structure of the grid has not changed fundamentally since its creation a century ago. But today’s grid faces new challenges: Clean energy sources like solar and wind are feeding more power into the grid, replacing centralized fossil fuel plants with more widely distributed and intermittent sources, while new control technologies and electric vehicles are changing the way we draw power out of the grid.
