To You and Your Family

From Our Staff and
Board of Trustees

May 2021 be the Best Year Ever!
As we head into 2021, I am grateful.
I am grateful for our wonderful staff
that continue to provide library services and keep the library open. Who offer creative, and fun programs virtually
through YouTube and Zoom.
I am grateful for our Board of Trustees who understand the community need for
trusted information, access to
computers and technology help, and for entertainment during the pandemic.
I am grateful for our patrons who continue to wear masks when in the library,
who keep visits short, and
who continue to use the library
as much as they can.

Sending you and your family
my very best wishes for the
Holiday season and the New Year.
Nancy Ashbrook, Director
Did You Know?
First Cookbook Club
Tuesday, Jan 12, 4 PM
via Zoom

It's our inaugural Cookbook Club meeting.

We'll be selecting a type of cuisine, or a famous chef, and cooking up a dish to share "via Zoom" with others!

Theme: Diabetic Recipes!

Cookbooks are available from the Library now for checkout.

Everyone will prepare a dish prior to the meeting. At the meeting, we'll sample our own dish and share the experience. Was it easy to make? Were the ingredients on hand, or did you have to shop? Does it taste good?
Tuesday
January 12th
4 PM via Zoom

What's the best part?

After the Zoom meeting, you'll have something to share with your family for dinner!

Registration required. Zoom link will be emailed to you on Monday, January 11th.

Did You Know?
We Have More Hot Spots!
What is a HotSpot?
Plug in device that gives you access to the Internet by computer, phone, or any other device. The choice is yours!

We've increased our collection from 11 devices to 21 HotSpots!
How do I check one out?
A hotspot can be checked out by any patron who has an EJMPLD library card and is in good standing (no replacement fees charged to account, etc.); if a patron under 18 wishes to check out a hotspot, their legal guardian will be responsible for the device. When checking out a hotspot the patron will be asked to sign a copy of the Mobile WiFi Hotspot Lending Policy to be kept on file.

Can I place one on hold?
Yes. Hotspots are able to be placed on hold by EJMPLD patrons just like other materials. Holds can be placed by logging into your library account from www.ellajohnsonlibrary.org or by calling the library. Search our catalog by Hotspot or 3-D object to see whether one is available.

How long can I check one out?
Hotspots can be borrowed for two weeks, with no renewal.

How do I use a hotspot?
Instructions for the hotspot are included in each hotspot case. The case contains the hotspot, an electrical adapter, and a charger cord. If you have any questions, please call us at 847-683-4490, and press "0."
