In response to the COVID-19 Virus, Local 43 wishes to significantly reduce the number of members visiting the Referral Office.
To that effect, we are implementing the following procedures:
There will be a temporary waiver of the required in-person sign-in for any Local 43 member seeking registration to an applicable Book effective March 24,2020. This waiver shall remain in effect until the NYS Governor ends non-essential work restrictions or the Business Manager deems it necessary.
Current Local 43 members may call the referral office during normal business hours to register. All calls will be recorded. Proof of separation from employment will be required, preferably by prior Employer notification to the Local Union Referral office.
Traveling Brothers and Sisters may call the referral office during normal business hours to register. All calls will be recorded. Their home Local must send a copy of a current dues receipt along with a letter from the Business Manager verifying their good standing, current unemployment and desire to register.
These protocols will reduce the exposure to our members, their families, and Local 43's staff.
