Dear Friends,
Happy Fall 2020!
As we welcome in November we might be planning Thanksgiving celebrations - our hearts filled with gratitude, blessings and fruitage. When the chapter on Fruitage was added to Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy selected the testimonies for this final chapter. On page 668 the testifier from Hudson, Massachusetts, included the following sentence: "There have been some mighty struggles with error, and I have learned that we cannot reach heaven with one long stride or easily drift inside the gate, but that the "asking" and the "seeking" and the "knocking" must be earnest and persistent."
Today we have struggles on many fronts and daily life seems to include requirements very unfamiliar to us, hence we turn to our Father-Mother. With the earnest and persistent asking, seeking and knocking going on in the hearts of all mankind, can we expect blessings, growth, transformation, reformation and new birth? Yes, we can!
We are grateful for the wonderful resources we have in Christian Science, and how they continue to support us in this consecrated work. We are grateful for The Mother Church and area branch churches providing services via Zoom or telephone and maintaining their public Christian Science Reading Rooms where possible. Access to our daily Bible Lesson nourishes us and our periodicals arrive to uplift us. Our Christian Science Associations are meeting in person and on Zoom, removing perceived barriers to this special day.
We are grateful for the organizations that support Christian Science nurses and Christian Scientists who are leaning on the Almighty God for healing. God is good and we have much to be grateful for in this season and every season!
Glory, honor, praise and pure oblations
Unto God the Lord belong;
Come into His presence with thanksgiving,
Come before Him with a song.
In His hand is all the power of nations,
Sing to Him, ye joyous congregations,
Psalms of gratitude and praise
Unto God the Father raise.
(The Christian Science Hymnal, No. 73:1)
With Joy,
The CSNN Board
