There is a Level 1 camp taking place on July 15-19 and a Level 2 camp (for youth who already have their hunter education certificate) on July 22-26. Both camps are at the Grizzly Ranch Conservation Education Center. and include duck banding, hunting skills, shotgun shooting, rifle, archery, fishing and other wildlife conservation activities. Five days of fun for young hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Overnight lodging, food, firearms, ammunition and targets included.

We also have a Family Camp taking place August 3-5 and a two-day Youth Hunter Camp on September 8-9/

Don't miss the 48th Annual Pacific Flyway Decoy Association Wildfowl Art Festival taking place July 21 and 22 at the DoubleTree hotel in Sacramento. View TONS of original decoy art including the final judging of the CWA Hunting Heritage 3-bird rig competition.

Show starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

EGG SALVAGE & HATCHERY TOUR - JULY 27
Kids had a great time at Rancho Esquon recently, getting hands-on with egg salvage ducklings! This is what happens with duck eggs that are rescued from farm fields that are about to be harvested - wildlife-friendly agriculture at its best!

WANTED: PHOTOS FOR THE MAGAZINE
Got any great photos from hunts last duck season, or maybe some shots from this spring or summer working your dog, or practicing with sporting clays, skeet or trap? We always welcome submissions for the Scrapbook section of our magazine. And while shots of you with your dead ducks are fine, we really like photos that capture more of the hunting experience - the gorgeous sunrise, the great retrieve. Email full-resolution JPGs to Holly Heyser at [email protected]. Be sure to include caption information: Names of people in the photo, ages if they're children, location (region is fine - no need to put an X on a map), and any pertinent details of the hunt.

California Waterfowl  is an award-winning 501(C)(3) nonprofit, hunter-supported conservation organization with a mission to conserve the state's waterfowl, wetlands, and hunting heritage.  In the last 20+ years, we've completed almost 1,500 individual projects to protect, restore, and enhance more than 500,000 acres, providing habitat for millions of birds and animals.  Our Wood Duck Program has hatched more than 770,000 ducklings, while our Banding Programs have marked nearly 257,000 birds.  Our Youth and Education Programs have reached more than 320,000 children, young adults, and families to help to create a better understanding of biology, conservation, and outdoor heritage.  All efforts are supported largely by donations and the work of nearly 1,500 dedicated and tireless volunteers.
