ABOUT JA EVENTS PROGRAMS
High School Students:
Will Your College or Job Application Stand Out from the Rest?

The application deadline to participate in our 2018-19 JA Career Bound program has been extended to August 1!

JA Career Bound is an 8-month cutting-edge, skills-building leadership program where select high school sophomore and junior students learn the skills necessary to succeed in today's workforce. After an opening retreat, students meet once a month for program days focused on specific industries.

Students visit some of South Florida's premier businesses to learn firsthand about the career opportunities and what companies are looking for in future employees. Students learn from top executives who share their journeys to success.  At the end of the year, students will have the opportunity to put their skills into action by participating in various paid internships with job shadowing.

"While in JA Career Bound, I learned about various job opportunities at different businesses. I also learned you should expand your mindset and explore all types of jobs. Finally, I practiced a ton of soft skills to better prepare for the business world." - Spencer Regli, JA Career Bound graduate.

Loved Your Junior Achievement Experience?
We Want to Hear from our Alumni!

In 2019, Junior Achievement of South Florida will be celebrating 60 years!

There'll be lots to celebrate, including JA alumni. As part of the celebration, we will be highlighting stories of our alumni. If, as a student, you participated in a Junior Achievement program in your classroom or at a JA educational facility any where in the world, please tell us your JA story. Over the next 12 months we will be featuring our alumni on our social media, website, with our current students and at our 2019 events!

Make a Difference at Junior Achievement!
Join One of our Board Committees!

From the Annual Board Retreat - (Left): Past Chair Amy Allen welcomes new Board Member Dawn Stagliano. (Right): Board Members Peter Woolf and Marketing Committee Chair Brandon Hensler discuss marketing strategies.

Although a large percentage of our volunteers work directly with our students, many others work behind the scenes serving on Committees led by members of our Board of Directors. These Committees are essential in helping us deliver JA programs to 50,000 students each year. The members plan fundraising events, guide marketing efforts, evaluate programs, etc. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Committee Member, please give us a call and we can share additional details on each committee: Development, Finance, Innovative Initiatives, Marketing, Programs, Audit, and Governance.

If you are interested in learning more, contact Lindsay Menocal at (954) 993-6658 or email [email protected]
