Billing Part B Drugs to DME MACs During COVID-19 Pandemic - Dispensing Amounts

Hello everyone:

Once again apologies if you receive this email twice as we have combined multiple email lists to reach the maximum number possible.

Noridian has published the first information provided by CMS related to DMEPOS and the Covid-19 Pandemic.

"Per direction from CMS effective for Dates of Service on or after March 1, 2020 suppliers are able to dispense Part B drugs in excess of a monthly supply. You will need to bill with the CR Modifier and a narrative of COVID-19."
The joint article can be found on the Noridian website under  "Fees and News/Latest News/Latest Updates".   Billing Part B Drugs to DME MACs During Covid-19 Pandemic - Dispensing Amounts

Please share this information with your staff and organization membership.

COVID-19 Update

We know how impactful the current outbreak is on providers of homecare services. The value and importance of your services has never been greater.

DHCS has submitted an extensive waiver request to CMS to waive a host of current requirements that impact the provision of DME and supplies. Those include face to face, utilization issues, place of service and more. It is an extensive list and we have not yet seen a reply but are confident that it will be granted.

AAHomecare has submitted a request to CMS to waive additional requirements as to audits, waive implementation of next round of CB, continue blended Medicare rates and more.

AAHomecare, VGM and Team@Work are also hosting a free Webinar this Friday, March 20th with information on home delivery, billing and sales in a COVID-19 environment.
It is scheduled for 2:30 PM Eastern/11:30 AM Pacific
Here is the registration link, and here's a promotional video about it.

Everything is very fluid and likely there will be federal legislative action that could impact provision of services and reimbursement.
