This Week in Westville is your go-to source for news, events, activities and goings-on in the Westville community. Like NPR and other user-supported media, much of our operations rely on the support of our "local listeners" - you, the reader. In order for the Westville Village Renaissance Alliance to continue providing this valuable community service, we ask you to donate or join WVRA as a Village Person today! Beyond the e-news, WVRA is working every day to make Westville a brighter, safer, more vibrant place to be. To learn more about our Main Street program initiatives, from community and cultural activities, economic revitalization, traffic-calming, historic preservation, and other quality of life efforts, click HERE.

VOLUNTEER FOR GOAT DUTY WITH FRIENDS OF EDGEWOOD PARK!
You may have heard
FOEP's good news - they are bringing goats to the park this year!
FOEP would love to involve the community in this creative and responsible means to enhance the access, services, and ecology of Edgewood Park. We have several roles for a variety of skillsets and time allotments. The top items are near-term priorities.
- Installing/Removing fence- This is a physical labor task. We need to move 50" high fencing sections from one or two loading areas, near the tennis courts. The fencing will stretch to the river and to the stormwater management area along Yale Ave. See here for more details. A date is not selected, but it will be a Saturday or weekday for ~4hrs before May 7.
- Providing fresh water Every day, goats need fresh water to drink. Edgewood Park has a spigot at the water fountain near the gazebo/tennis courts. The bucket(s) for the goats will be placed in the same place, every time, inside the gate.
- Signage We will be creating educational and instructional signs. The construction of the sign is TBD, but we imagine the mounting, posting, and building/routering/finishing might be areas for trades-persons. The content and images are best suited for experts in education, environmental issues, graphic design.
- Taking pictures of progress We want to learn about the progress in the goats eating invasive plants. We want to capture pictures of the areas, from designated locations, throughout the entire period. We have selected areas to photograph and upload Google Photos and Instagram/Facebook.
- Check the integrity of the fence Every three (3) days, a person needs to walk along the entire perimeter of the fencing. The person needs to notify this email address (friendsofedgewoodpark+goats@gmail.com) if there exists any vandalism, breakage, or opening in the fence, (examples: trees that may have fallen, someone opened or broke fence).
- Donate to the cause by April 28!
- Planting native plants, post-remediation.

MARJORIE WOLFE'S FAR AND WIDE +TOM EDWARDS EXTENDED VISIONS
The work in Marjorie Wolfe's latest collection of photographs was either composed on a recent trip to Italy, or on her favorite island, Martha's Vineyard; all are spare, simple compositions presented in similar formats. Wolfe explains: "Panoramas and composite photographs are meant to unfold a wide world where separate images are arranged to form a single view. ... They show more than what our eyes let us see in one glance, but that we know is there." Similarly, Tom Edwards' ever-evolving multimedia artworks "are not intended to represent any single moment in time, but rather to assimilate multiple moments and observations into a dynamic experience." Edwards states that most of these works have been produced over an extended period of time, which allows for a constant reworking: "I think of [the works] as open-ended compositions ... Time affects everything, including the way I perceive my own work."
