A Pop-up Makerspace has taken over The Gallery at Three Rivers for the month of September. The intent of the makerspace is to promote active learning, team building, and multidisciplinary approaches to inquiry and creating. Learn more here.
The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, September 5 from 12:30-1:30 pm.

Dear Colleagues,
I want to welcome all of you to the start of the 2018-2019 Academic Year! I hope each of you has found some time to relax this summer. I especially want to welcome the new faculty and staff who are joining Three Rivers, and I look forward to introducing you to the Three Rivers community at our Professional Development Day on September 21st.
At Professional Development Day, I will be reviewing
the four goals of the Strategic Plan: Student Success, Image, Stewardship, and Partnership. Some of these priorities we will be focusing on include:
- increasing the percentage of students enrolled full time;
- increasing the number of students retained fall-to-spring and fall-to-fall;
- growing the numbers of students enrolled in the online general studies program;
- increasing student graduation rates; and
- reviewing low enrolled programs to determine their viability.
As we start the new year, know that we have the pleasure and the privilege of touching lives through the transformative power of education.
Have a meaningful year and one that provides enjoyment as you journey through the semester!

New Fully Online General Studies Associate Degree Now Available!
Three Rivers is excited to announce its first fully online degree program, General Studies, A.S. With online courses that can fit every schedule and one of the lowest college tuitions in the country, this new program can either jump start students on a career or provide a direct pathway to a bachelor's degree. Montville Job Center Grand Opening
On July 27, President Jukoski spoke at the American Job Center Grand Opening in Montville. The Center partners with federal, state, and local organizations to act as a one-stop resource for job seekers and businesses, providing a number of workforce development and career services. At the opening, President Jukoski announced that the Three Rivers manufacturing program will be moving to new facilities
at Grasso Tech starting in Fall 2019.

Super Saturday Helps 82 Students!
Super Saturday on August 4 was a success! Among many other things, 82 students were serviced with 56 registered, 75 were advised and 40 were placement tested. Se
venty-five percent of the students who attended Super Saturday and completed the survey were NEW students. Thank you to all faculty and staff who assisted with Super Saturday.

New CSCU Scholarship Available!
The
Donofrio Public Media Scholarship is targeted to students interested in careers in media and/or communications. The scholarship is available to second year, full-time CSCU community college students who are studying in the fields of communications, journalism, broadcasting, television production, digital arts, digital media production, or marketing. Part-time students are eligible if the scholarship increases the number of credits that can be taken allowing students to accelerate their associate degree program. Students will need to demonstrate need on their FAFSA but do not have to be receiving aid.
Students must turn in their applications by September 17th and a decision will be made by the end of the month.

Calling all Artists!
All faculty and staff are
invited to display their
artwork in the College gallery this fall in the show "Lifelong Learning: Students and Stewards." It is a collaboration with the Adventures in Lifelong Learning students and will also include selections of their work.

News from Three Rivers College Foundation

There's still time to become a sponsor or register to golf in the Golf Classic!
The 21st Annual Three Rivers College Foundation Golf Classic will be held on Monday, September 17 at Fox Hopyard Golf Club.
Over the past two decades, the Golf Classic has raised nearly one million dollars to fund college initiatives and programs, student scholarships, books, classroom equipment and so much more.

Congratulations to the recently graduated Design Engineering class in the Manufacturing Pipeline Program. This is the sixth class to graduate and nearly all have conditional offers from Electric Boat.

 All summer long the Environmental Engineering Technology and TRUE students have tended a garden behind the CUP building. They harvested and donated the produce to the Gemma Moran Food Bank, who appreciated wholesome, healthy, organic, and delicious fresh produce for those in need.
