Hi Friends,

I hope you all are looking forward to a wonderful weekend. June 28 is a special day for Steve and me because today we celebrate 33 years of marriage. When we got married a month after graduating from college, I don't think we ever could have imagined the adventures we would have, the two wonderful kids we would be blessed with and the love we would share. Looking forward to at least another 33!

As you know, this summer we've been offering 2 worship services on Sundays, one at 9:30 and 11:00. This Sunday, June 30, we've invited the early service crowd to have a conversation at 8:15 in the Chapel. If you usually attend the 8:15 service, we hope you'll make every effort to be there. We look forward to getting your input and sharing in a conversation about how we move forward in the fall.

And now, a few save the date reminders for you. First of all on Sundays, August 11, 18 and 25, we'll be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Trinity. On August 11, we'll celebrate the first 40ish years of ministry grounded at our 8th Avenue location. On August 18, we'll celebrate the next 20 or so years as we built our home on 53rd Avenue. And finally, on August 25, we look forward with excitement to the next 20 years.

On August 18, we'll have ONE worship service at 9:30 followed by a quick turnaround and boxed lunch in the Worship Center. We are also extending invitations for all of our former pastors, associate pastors and staff to join us for a homecoming on that morning. You won't want to miss being a part of this festive homecoming, so mark your calendars now.

On another note, I invite all Trinity women (and friends) to mark your calendar for a Trinity Women's Retreat on March 6-8, 2020. I encourage you to block out those days for time away (and invite your mother and/or adult daughters and friends as well) to spend the weekend at our United Methodist Conference Center in Leesburg, FL. It's a beautiful and rejuvenating setting.   And we'll be led by an amazing woman and speaker, Rev. Dr. Rhonda VanDyke. Rhonda has a keen sense of the Holy Spirit, and every time I've heard her speak, I have been inspired, challenged and deeply moved. She is an ordained United Methodist clergywoman who has served local churches in Virginia and is now the Vice President for Student Life at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. She's also just a ton of fun!

Particularly as women, it is incredibly important to step away to renew our spirits, to strengthen our friendships with other women, and to make ourselves available to hear a word from God. My mother and I have both already saved the dates on our calendar and I have invited both of my sisters, my daughter and my nieces as well. So all the Fluck family women will be there and I hope you will as well!

Finally, I hope I'll see you Sunday as we begin a new summer worship series: "Once Upon a Time in Israel: Kings, Dreams and Schemes." We'll be looking at the stories of Elijah and Elijah from the books of 1 and 2 Kings. There's a new movie coming out this summer that's getting lots of hype, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."   But Hollywood ain't got nothing on Israel. Don't miss these accounts of the prophets and what God might have to say to us through them.
