A special message from the Bloomington Health Foundation
To our friends, supporters, and community members,

As a local health leader, we want to share actions we are taking during the current COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak to help you and your loved ones stay safe and informed.

We are grateful for the efforts being taken by our state and local partners. We have shared their links and information below.

Additionally, we are pleased to partner with local organizations to deploy funds around emergency action preparedness during this difficult time:

  • First, BHF funded hand washing stations for Wheeler Mission, at their request in conjunction with the Monroe County Health Department, to curb the spread of COVID-19 among those experiencing homelessness.

  • Second, we have made an initial $50,000 commitment to support the United Way of Monroe County's COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. See the press release here.

  • Earlier this year, in partnership with the Local Council of Women and the City of Bloomington, BHF launched a new social services database of over 1,800 resources, Helping Bloomington Monroe, that can assist you in finding free and reduced-cost services for food access, childcare options, and more.

  • Lastly, we are in regular communication with county, city, and local community partners and stand ready to assist as needs are identified both in the short and long term.

As recommended by the Monroe County Health Department, our staff is working remotely. We do not anticipate any disruptions with ongoing projects or grants. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us .

Now more than ever, together for a healthier tomorrow.
