Dear Colleagues:

 
The search for the next Registrar has concluded. I am pleased to inform you that Mr. Daniel Parks has accepted the position, effective May 23, 2018.
 
Daniel Parks brings to Cal Poly Pomona over twelve years of leadership experience in higher education, with progressive responsibility for overseeing academic and enrollment policies, implementing technology solutions and contributing to student success initiatives. Currently, Daniel is the University Registrar at CSU Chico. As part of CSU Chico's Graduation Initiative, Daniel served on the GI2025 committee and provided leadership in campus-wide efforts to develop analytics to minimize time to degree and improve their retention and graduation rates. 
 
In his previous role as Director of Registrar IT Systems and Initiatives with the University of Colorado, Denver, Daniel reorganized the area to better align with PeopleSoft and technology infrastructure on the campus. In addition, Daniel provided guidance and oversaw the creation of the strategic plan for the Office of the Registrar. While at the University of Colorado, Denver, he served on campus committees to create a comprehensive student experience. In previous roles, Daniel served as Associate Director of Admissions for Enrollment Management, and as a Financial Aid counselor and Pell Grant manager.
 
He holds a BA in Political Science/Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State, a Master of Public Administration from University Colorado, Denver, and a second Master's in Higher Education Leadership and Post-Master Certification in Enrollment Management from Capella University.
 
I want to thank Ms. Christina Beddall for her service as Interim Registrar. I also would like to thank the search committee, co-chaired by Ms. Jennifer Andelin and Dr. Reza Baghaei-Lakeh, for conducting a smooth and successful search.
