Cumberland Council is out and about undertaking community consultation on our Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) for 2030. 

This will set  the direction and priorities for strategic planning in our community over the course of the next decade and beyond.

We are encouraging you to "Have Your Say" and provide input on areas that are important to you. 
 
This includes:
  • planning and development 
  • environment 
  • roads and waste  
  • parks and community
  "Have Your Say" online with just a few clicks. We look forward to hearing your feedback.
Community Grants Program is now open
 
Round one of Cumberland Council's  Community Grants Program has opened. 

The Program p rovides grants to local not-for-profit organisations and individuals to help deliver services and programs across our community. 
 
The programs supported by this funding are diverse and deliver social, economic, cultural, recreational and environmental benefits to the community.

Submissions close on 2 September 2019.

Free business advice by the experts

Our customised business advisory service supports small-to-medium businesses to start or build their business successfully.

Cook up a storm with Iranian and Pakistani food classes

Experience Iranian and Pakistani culture first hand at the Flavours of Auburn cooking class on this week at Auburn Centre for Community.

Come along and learn the secrets to these cuisines:

Sewing for sustainability

Join us for a FREE workshop to learn simple sewing skills, help our environment and take home your very own Boomerang Bag. 

All materials are supplied, however if you have spare fabric at home please bring it along to reuse, re-purpose and recycle. 

If you cant make it to a workshop, donations of old tablecloths, pillowcases or any cotton fabric are welcomed at the Berala Community Centre or Merrylands Council Office during July and August.

To play our part in making Cumberland more sustainable all  bags made during the workshop will be given to a community bag share program.

Are you a creative food truck, business or novelty store looking to be a stallholder at one of the most vibrant events of the year? 

Council is looking for businesses to submit their interest for Diwali Street Celebrations to be held on Saturday 26 October 2019

This event presents an opportunity for your business or organisation to engage with a large number of residents and families within our community.

If you would like to participate as a stallholder, please submit an expression of interest by downloading the info pack and application form and returning it to Council's Events Officer by email to   stallholders@cumberland.nsw.gov.au.

Expressions of interests close Saturday 7 September 2019.
