Competitive Grant Cycle  
Now Open
 
The Competitive Grant Cycle is now open for grant proposals from 501c3 organizations and government entities serving the Danville, Pittsylvania County and Caswell County. All applications must be submitted online by Monday, July 30, 2018.  
 
Please keep in mind that the online application is a two step process and you must submit both portions in order to have a complete application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Click here to start your application. 
 
This is CFDRR's only call for grant applications for the 2019 cycle. Remember, awards are given in January 2019 therefore proposals should be for projects taking place between January 2019-December 2019.

 
111 Scholarships Awarded  
 
The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region has awarded 111 scholarships totaling more than $225,000 to area students. Presentations from 48 different scholarship funds within The Community Foundation were made at a scholarship reception held June 10, 2018 at The Community Center in Chatham. The Community Foundation has awarded 1,048 scholarships totaling more than $2.3 million since its beginning in 1996. Click here to read the full list of scholarship recipients.

Professional Advisor Training 
 
The Community Foundation will host its first Cannon Estate Planning Teleconference for area professional advisors. Come connect and collaborate on relevant issues without the added expense of travel and accommodations while you earn Continuing Education and Learning credits! The teleconference will take place on Tuesday, August 28 at The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research for $30 per person. Boxed lunches will be served at 12:30 with the teleconference provided from 1-2:30 p.m. To register online, please click here. Retiring Board Members Recognized
    
The Community Foundation would like to thank Gerald Adcock, Lamar Barr, Telly Tucker and Bill Woods for their years of service on the Board of Directors. It is always sad to see great board members retire, but we are very grateful for the countless hours they have served to better the Dan River Region through The Community Foundation.

Legacy Society Reception 
 
 On June 20, The Legacy Society met at The Community Foundation office for the 2018 Legacy Society Reception. The Legacy Society honors those who have made a lasting commitment to The Community Foundation since we were formed in 1996. Donors who designate a gift to The Community Foundation through a will, trust, or other planned gift are invited to join our Legacy Society.
