FREE Student Flu Vaccine Clinic, 10/29 & 10/30
flu shot
The Republic School District, in cooperation with Jordan Valley Community Health Center, is offering a seasonal flu vaccine to any child at no-cost, as supply allows.

The following conditions would prevent children from receiving the flu vaccine: allergy to vaccine components and moderate or severe illnesses.

If you are interested in your child receiving the inactivated influenza vaccine (flu shot), please complete and sign a consent form and return to your school nurse by October 24th. You may print the consent form, CLICK HERE. It is also located on the district website or ask your school nurse for a form.

People Helping People Luncheon
Thank you for supporting People Helping People, Republic (click here to learn more about PHP) again this year. Our annual soup luncheon will be held on November 1st. Lunches will be delivered to your building.

The cost will be $7 for homemade soup, sandwich, cookies, and a McAlister's drink. Orders must be completed using the form found at the link below prior to October 26th. You will need to get the money to your building secretary before lunches are delivered on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

Your options this year will be:
Soup: potato, vegetable beef, cheesy potato, chili, or chicken noodle
Sandwiches: turkey & cheese, ham & cheese, or chicken salad on croissant

American Fidelity Visits
American Fidelity Assurance Company representatives will be in the district to provide the yearly employee benefit package review. This review is provided annually to all employees who work 20 hours or more, which include voluntary benefits offered through payroll deduction, plus the benefits of Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan. Open enrollment for ancillary products will begin September 24 and run through October. This is the window of opportunity for employees to change or add American Fidelity products for an effective date of January 1, 2019.

Each employee who qualifies (20 hours or more, double route bus drivers, and part-time retirees) for the 125 benefit program must sign off that they have been given the opportunity to view available products offered. Please know that no one should feel pressured to sign up for any product. This is the only opportunity for individuals who want added insurance to sign up for these benefits/services. The Individual meetings are mandatory to eligible employees in order to keep the district compliant with the legal IRS guidelines.

Specific times in which American Fidelity will be in your building/department will be sent to you by your building secretary or supervisor. You will then be able to sign up for a time to review their products.

Season of Surveys
It's that time of year...feedback time! To help the district best meet your needs as employees along with the needs of the students and families we serve, we will be distributing several surveys to these patron groups in October and November. More details will be coming, but specifically we wanted to share the addition of a student survey as this hasn't taken place in the past.

We want to gather input from students regarding the culture of their school buildings and get an overall snapshot of their school experience. This will be a short survey that will only be taken by 4th-12th grade students via a survey link that will be shared with you by your building administration along with additional instructions. We are only surveying 4th-12th grade students at this time as this mimics the national Leader in Me survey that these same grade levels will take in the spring. Thank you in advance for your help in gathering this important feedback! Stay tuned for more!

Employee Athletic Pass Reminder
Employee passes are good for free admission to regular season Republic Middle School and Republic High School home athletic events.  They will not be accepted for tournaments and district/state events.  Passes are good for the employee and their immediate family (employee, spouse, and dependent elementary/middle/high school students).
