Please Join us for a Group Tour of GPS!

This Fall our Junior Kindergarten students are enjoying the classic children's book, The Doorbell Rang. The classes completed many exciting, active learning experiences including cooperative games, acting out the story plus math and science activities. The culminating activity is baking their own cookies. The student's recipe and cookies will be shared with you! RSVP's are recommended but not required.

Program Spotlight: The Three's

The Three Year Old Program is designed for growing young minds. Two, 3 and 5 Day Classes are available with optional Lunch Bunch until 1:20pm or Stay & Play from 7:30am-6:00pm.

Our curious three year olds have started the school year getting to know their new friends. Children partnered up and collaborated on Friendship Paintings. Students will be doing many creative activities this fall including painting with pine needles, taste testing various types of apples, going on nature walks and discovering our cherry and apple trees, creating AB patterns with apple parts, and a lively retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears with props and songs. The Three's are off to a great start!

Amazing Athletes

G olden Pond School is dedicated to teaching the whole child, which includes motor skills and physical education. Exercise helps a child's developing brain by stimulating brain growth and boosting cognitive performance. Building the brain in this way helps children focus and retain information.

To support our students GPS is excited to announce a new partnership with Amazing Athletes! Coaches will teach the basic fundamentals and mechanics of 10 different sports including Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Track & Field and Tennis. These 35 minute classes work on building self-confidence, practicing teamwork and improving key areas of motor development. Balancing, running, jumping, throwing, catching, kicking and target bowling are incorporated into a non-competitive, learning-based environment.

A mazing Athletes 6-week classes are available this Fall for students ages 3-8.

Welcome to Golden Pond School! One of the many ways Golden Pond stands out from other schools is our Home Visits. These special teacher visits are a wonderful opportunity for teachers and students to get to know each other and start building their relationship in a comfortable environment before the first day of school. Taking this is one step we take to ensure children will feel welcome and happy the moment they step into the classroom!

Kindergarten Corner

The Robins and Bluebirds have settled into their classrooms and are
beginning to experiment with Simple Machines. Simple Machines make work
easier and include the Lever, Wheel & Axle, Pulley, Inclined Plane,
Wedge and Screw. Students are discovering the science behind catapults,
balance boards, flag poles, rollercoasters, balance scales, seesaws, and
more. Simple Machines are everywhere - just ask a GPS Kindergartner!

Yella Kim

7 Years of Teaching Experience

Yella was immediately drawn to the philosophy of the Golden Pond Way when she and her husband decided to enroll their son at Golden Pond School in 2008. Their family watched Nate blossom through his years at the school. We were thrilled when Yella decided to join the faculty in 2011 to pursue her love of teaching.
