JV HYACKS RETURN HOME

For the first time in a month, the JVs will be back at Mercer Stadium this Friday night for a 5:30pm kickoff against STM. The Hyacks come into this league game with a 2-1 overall record (1-0 in conference play), following a bye last week and a win over Abbotsford in their last outing. Jordan Freeland continues to make progress with additional playing time at quarterback, while the Hyacks will also welcome back DB/RB Deakon Young after missing a couple of games with an injury.

HYACKS WIN KUSHNIR BOOT

The boot is staying home, thanks to a 20-6 win over South Delta in an intense, defensive battle. Ajay Chol made a pair of impressive TD receptions, while Austin Galbraith intercepted a pair of passes, returning one for the game-clinching TD. The Hyack defense has now scored defensive TDs in 4 straight games, 5 all totaled during that stretch.

New West now leads the series 7-3 and this marks the first time since it began in 2005 that a road team has won the coveted boot. The Hyacks have now won 4-straight games and are 3-0 in conference play.
They will play their 3rd straight road game, taking on a Notre Dame team that is also unbeaten in league play, on Friday, Oct 5th at 7:30pm.

YOUTH FOOTBALL

The RCHFC continued their regular season this past weekend:

JR BANTAM:
Junior bantams defeated the White Rock Titans 22-20 in a close game that went down to the wire. Quarterback Teagan Barre had a huge game, throwing two touchdown passes and had a long rushing score of his own. He also was huge converting 2point PATs and making tackles on defense. Jayden Bustamante and Jaxson Domville were on the receiving end of the touchdown throws. Maxim Butkovsky and Trey McClelan led the defense on the last minute defensive stop to seal the Hyacks victory.
PEE WEE:
The pee wees lost to Cloverdale on a rainy Sunday morning. Milan Kos had a long run in the first half, Jason Rithaler and Connor Baker worked hard on the offensive line, while Mateo McDonell had a strong game on both sides of the ball.
