Board Elections Begin in November

Voting for the 2019 LA Fashion District Business Improvement District (BID) Board of Directors will open on November 1, 2018. This year we have ten candidates running for seven seats on the Board of Directors - for a three year term commencing on January 1, 2019. The candidates are Mark Chatoff, Matthew Haverim, Kenan Jones, Elisa Keller, Steven Kim, Lisa Korbatov, Yul Kwon, Dean Nucich, Diane Pappas, and Kayhan Shakib.

All property owners who own property within the boundaries of the LA Fashion District Business Improvement District (BID), and are current in their assessment payments, are invited to vote for the candidates of their choice for Board of Directors. Keep an eye out in the mail for ballot and voting instructions.
Update on Mitchell

" Mitchell v. City of Los Angeles  is a case filed against the City of Los Angeles in the Central District of California by the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. In April 2016, the district court issued a preliminary injunction against the City, which effectively eliminates any limits on personal goods on the public right of way, and applied the injunction only to Downtown, specifically from Spring to Alameda and 3rd to 8th Streets." (CCA)

The City has the following options - settle the Mitchell case in accordance with the current injunction, or go to trial. Settling the case would make these boundaries permanent and prohibit the City from maintaining any order or cleanliness on the streets.  We are asking the City to go to trial and not settle.

Your voice is critical. It is important that our elected officials hear your thoughts on this issue that will have serious implications for Downtown and the city. Please call your elected officials.
The Fashion District's New Banners!

Over the past few years the Fashion District has continued to transform into a downtown neighborhood, filled with residents, cafes, galleries, restaurants, bars, events and entertainment. Earlier this year, LA Fashion District BID unveiled an updated brand for the Fashion District which included a new logo. To continue to help represent the vibrant colors and diversity the district has to offer, check out the new pole banners.

We hope you love them!
