If the weather turns bad, the 9:30AM service will occur at the Church on the Hill 784 Sheridan Rd. Just look for our sandwich boards in front of the church and at the entrance to the park.

Rummage Estate Sale - June
29 & 30 (Preview Today, June 28)

We've had a shell of a time preparing for our first ever Estate Sale on behalf of Lew Petry. And, it's finally show time! We look forward to seeing you TODAY during our Friends & Family Sale. Parishioners are invited to Shop With Purpose between 1-3PM before the sale opens to the general public on Friday & Saturday; doors are ajar for business both days between 10 am - 3PM. A huge Thank You to Lew - He is donating 50% of all sales to Rummage. The funds will be distributed to those in need via Benevolence Grants! Please take a minute to thank him for his incredible generosity!

New Trier Township Food Pantry

Our next New Trier Township Food Pantry intake is Sunday, July 1. We are trying something new for summer 2018 to support the New Trier Township Food Pantry! There are two ways you can help continue to provide food for our hungry neighbors:

1) Donate cash to the pantry jar during Church at Maple Street Park. We will give the cash directly to the pantry as donations drop off significantly in the summer while the need for food increases due to children being off school and not taking advantage of free breakfast & lunch programs.

2) Bring produce from your garden to Church at Maple Street Park. Yes, we know it's a bit early in the season for a lot of things, but the pantry gratefully welcomes fresh produce as that tends to be the most expensive and thus something their clients tend to spend less on. (Please wash the produce and place root vegetables in resealable plastic bags once dry at the request of the Pantry.)

Want to help further??

If you have a garden and will be traveling this summer, Christ Church volunteers will happily come by and harvest from your garden while you're gone and take the produce to the pantry rather than letting it go to waste! Or feel free to drop produce off any time Monday through Wednesday (again, please wash the produce and place root vegetables in resealable plastic bags once dry).

Meet Our New Director of Youth Ministries This Sunday

We are delighted to welcome our new Youth Minister, Megan Miller. She will be at the beach service on July 1, 2018 and starts in the office the following day. Megan grew up in the Midwest and has most recently been the Religion and Campus Ministry Department Chair at Christo Rey High School in New York City. She and her dog, Daisy, have moved to Evanston. Please welcome Megan to life at Christ Church.

Summer Travel Church Experiences

With the 4th of July kicking off summer travel, the 2040 Committee would like to gather your experience visiting other churches over the summer. We also want to capture other church experiences for those of you lucky enough to leave during the Chicago winters.

Whether your head up north to Michigan or Wisconsin, warmer climates like Arizona or Florida, overseas, downtown or anywhere in between we'd like to hear about your faith experience outside of Christ Church. We hope to learn what resonated with you during your visit. By understanding what other parishes are doing well, we may find inspiration for experimentation at Christ Church and, most importantly, reinforce what is special about the Christ Church experience.

No Playgroup on July 4, see you on the 11th!
New! Playgroup on the Patio

Parents and caregivers, you and your little ones are invited to a weekly Christ Church playdate! Every Wednesday morning this summer, we will be meeting in the McClain Room and the adjoining patio from 9:30-11:00 for some fun playtime. We will have lots of toys, a simple snack, and coffee for the grown-ups! Friends are welcome. Questions? Contact Melissa Durbin, or Patty Lea.

We Need Volunteers for Tuesday, July 10

DID YOU KNOW that our Parish serves approximately 220-300 hungry patrons each month at A Just Harvest Community Kitchen in Rogers Park. We'd love to have you join this ongoing ministry.
