At the outset of his term as Mayor, Art Agnos appealed to religious leaders to come to the aid of the City in addressing our homeless crisis. What began as a one-year  Emergency Winter Shelter , this year enters into its 30th year. Under the auspices of the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing , s ponsored by the San Francisco Interfaith Council , operated by Episcopal Community Services , generously supported by four host site congregations, 55 meal providing religious and other organizations, and supplemental spiritual staff from the San Francisco Night Ministry , the  Interfaith Winter Shelter provides critically needed safe and welcoming respite, as well as lovingly cooked meals, for between 60-100 homeless men from the Sunday before Thanksgiving until the end of March. Please join us as we mark this milestone of service and express appreciation to those whose inspired vision, volunteerism and commitment has made this valued program possible.

PLEASE BRING: Non-perishable food items to fill the SF-Marin Food Bank  barrels.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION/PARKING: Muni bus lines 2, 3 and 38. There is metered street parking adjacent to the event until 9:00 am. Enforcement of metered parking starts promptly at 9:00 am. There is also parking available in the Japantown Garages
at reasonable rates. We encourage you to park in these garages.
