Ministry friend,

We are excited to update you on things going on around the center.  Our school and teen/young parenting programs have ended for this school/program year and we are in full swing with summer activities!

Please continue to pray for the ministry of Still Waters, the work of God, and for the staff, volunteers, and clients He chooses to accomplish His purpose through.

In His Love,
The Still Waters Team

Congratulations Julie!!!

We ended our  teen/young parent program year with a recognition dinner and graduation celebration fo r Julie, one of our teen/young moms of Chosen.

Julie is a high school graduate who achieved the following goals while participating in Chosen:
  • Got her driver's license
  • Got a job
  • Purchased a vehicle
  • Got her own apartment
  • Took steps on her own personal journey that led to growth and healing
  • Currently enrolled in college classes
She has overcome many obstacles and challenges as a young lady / mommy and has proven to be more than a conqueror.

We have watched Julie blossom into a beautiful young woman and an amazing mommy over these past few years.   God has gifted her with a beautiful heart and love for Him. We cannot wait to see how He uses her in the days ahead and the life journey He has planned for her and her precious little girl.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Thank you to Katie Sotzing, from the USDA Extension office, for leading a life skills workshop for our teen/young moms on food safety when using a slow cooker.  She shared recipes with the group and gave each mom a  vegetable  scrubber/peeler.

Katie is such a blessing to Still Waters and we sincerely appreciate what she did for our teen/young moms!!!  ❤️

Thank you, too, to the kind-hearted and generous ladies of Country Bible Church for providing each of our teen/young moms with a brand new slow cooker during this life skills workshop (see photo below). They were so excited to take those home along with the three slow cooker meals they prepared during class and a 365-day Devotional & Cookbook.

We love our teen/young moms and are privileged to teach them the life skills needed to succeed in motherhood.  It is a true blessing to partner with our community and area churches who have this same passion.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

i am ENOUGH

God is doing amazing things with the i am ENOUGH program. We  are excited each time we hear about how God is using this program to teach youth about their worth and value.  We want to share these pictures we have recently received from some of our partners.

One of our partners from Virginia shared this picture with us. This is their group of school speakers preparing to take the i am ENOUGH message into their schools. We absolutely love the shirts they had made so they would be easily recognizable!

The pictures below are from our partner in Uganda who held an i am ENOUGH Conference for their youth.  These young boys and girls were excited to learn deep truths about who they are.

BOYS...
Learning what it means to be men of honor, integrity, and valor.

GIRLS...
Learning they have worth and value in Jesus Christ.

Much Appreciation...

We had our first online auction in April.  Thanks to our awesome Fundraising Committee and ministry friends like you, almost $3,000 was raised.

Thank you to everyone who donated items to help raise money for the ministry of Still Waters.  We are so grateful for your heart and support.

A special shout out of appreciation goes to Mallorie Parks and Amy Armstrong for making this fundraising event possible.  The time and effort you put into this fundraiser is appreciated more than you know.  God bless y'all!!

Monday Night Programs

ATTENTION:  Teen/Young Parents!!!

We are currently accepting applications for Chosen, Thrive & Ignite, our programs for teen / young parents.

Registration closes  July 31st!

If you are not familiar with these parent programs, they are open to all teen/young moms and dads.   These programs meet every Monday night during the school year.

The following services are FREE and provided to each participant:
  • Dinner
  • Child Care
  • Life Skill Workshops
  • Christian Character Development / Accountability
If you or someone you know would like to apply for the upcoming program year, please contact:

Amy Armstrong, Parent Programs Coordinator

If you would like to make a difference in the life of a teen/young parent and their child, we would love you to serve with us.

The following volunteer opportunities are currently available in our parent programs:
  • MENTORS - Mentors are partnered with a teen/young mom for one-on-one support of the mom throughout the Chosen program year.  We meet every Monday night during the school year to help moms learn life skills and grow in their personal and spiritual life.  Chosen is a three year program and our goal is to pair mentors with moms that can walk along side of them the entire length of the program.
  • CHILD CARE - Child Care volunteers will spend their time playing with and guiding the young children of the teen/young parent program participants. They will arrive at 6:30 pm and spend an hour and 20 minutes overseeing play activity, simple crafts and providing basic child care duties.  We typically have 3 rooms for children: babies/new walkers, toddlers/pre-schoolers, and school-aged. Our goal is to have child care volunteers for the entire program year, but a semester commitment is required.
Volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer packet. Mandatory training is provided for all Mentors and Child Care volunteers.

If you are interested in not only serving with us but also being part of changing the life of a teen parent and their child, please contact:
