Our FORCLT sermon series is over, but we're taking one more Sunday to celebrate what we are FOR with For the Nations on October 7. 

In addition, Adult and Student Discipleship Communities will experience BeFORe and After Sunday - a time to explore practical next steps to engage and be in relationship with the hidden and forgotten in our city and unreached areas of the world.

BeFORe and After Sunday will be offered at 9:30 and 11:00am for Adults in both the Auxiliary Gym and Student Auditorium. Please note:
  • Adult DC leaders will direct their DC to their designated location.
  • NOT in a DC? You are welcome at either location during either time.

Two Announcements

We shared two BIG announcements this weekend! They were:
  • Carmel will plant a church in the Charlotte area in 2019 led by Josh Fairbaugh and Lem LeRoy! Watch the announcement here.
  • CarmelKidz Children's Minister Sean Lee will be moving to Washington, DC in November for an exciting new job for her husband Jae - an answer to a prayer prayed 33 years ago!

DISASTER RESPONSE: Prayers + Donations + Volunteers

We continue to work through NC Baptist Disaster Response to care for our neighbors to the east impacted by Florence. Let's continue to pray, donate and serve!  

SPOTLIGHT NEED: Recovery Workers
Recovery work is labor intensive work that includes removing damaged drywall, insulation, trim, carpet and cabinets. This is a critical and time-sensitive step to minimize the growth of mold in flooded homes.

Welcome Two New Team Members

We're excited to welcome Erin Butler (Student Ministry Assistant) and Christopher Kincaid (Worship Ministry Associate) to the Carmel staff team!
The Butler Family  

Erin Butler is a native Charlottean who has enjoyed working in graphic design and project planning over the course of her career. For the past four years, Erin has served at Christian Adoption Services as Visual Communications Director.   

Erin and Eric have been married for 24 years, and are raising four kids, Jacob, Luke, Brooke and Drew, ranging from college sophomore to seventh grade. Erin enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and running, and loves being a taxi mom and cheering on her kids!  Erin and family have been active members at Carmel for over 16 years, and she is looking forward to being a part of the Student Ministry Team!
The Kincaid Family

 Christopher Kincaid has been leading worship in the Charlotte area for over a decade. He and his wife, Rachael, are both Charlotte natives. They have six kids, two dogs and fifteen chickens. If you're nice to him, he just might give you some farm fresh eggs from his homestead in Fort Mill.

 Last year, Christopher was the Carmel Students Worship Leader, and is so excited to be back on the team here at Carmel. He is looking forward to meeting new people and being a part of what the Lord is doing in this community.

Today - October 2

Women -  tonight you can come pray with Daughters of the King or plug into the monthly Mom's Time Out gathering for mom's with preschool-age kids.
Wednesday - October 3

Midweek continues with an Oktoberfest-themed supper + equipping for all ages (including Famjam for Carmelkidz and their parents).

Care Groups: Griefshare and DivorceCare invite you to join them any Wednesday evening for a season of healing. If you are interested in joining either of these classes, pre-register here. 
Thursday - October 4

Men start the morning off with The Journey.

Women gather as Daughters of the King for midday prayer - all are welcome!
Sunday - October 7

In addition to the items noted above , we'll observe the ordinance of Lord's Supper at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00am and intercessors will be in the Prayer Room between services to pray with and for you.
Tuesday - October 9
Come pray with the Carmel Family at 2nd Tuesday Prayer. The prayer focus for the morning will be the Nations.

October Community Opportunties

Our local ministry partner, who works to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community, will host the FREE red carpet premiere of the remastered Joni movie - with founder Joni Eareckson Tada in attendance.

Our friends at Ember will host a night of worship and teaching with author Jennie Allen and worship leader Christy Nockels. 

Our friends at Silent Images will host a FREE night of short films and discussion on mental health.
