Yom Kippur Assembly

Our middle-schoolers have been engaged in a drama workshop this week during the intermediate days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, called the "Aseret Y'mei T'shuvah ," the "Ten Days of Repentance."

Exposed Brick Theater Company has led team-building activities for our sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, on the themes of how we repair relationships when things go wrong. The culmination of this experience will be to share their dramatic vignettes with the school community, in preparation for Yom Kippur. You are invited to watch this presentation at our Yom Kippur Assembly on Tuesday, October 8 at 10:50 a.m.

All School Lunch "Head Table"

Each week, as we celebrate Shabbat at All School Lunch, a different table will be honored by serving as the Head Table. Being the Head  Table means students can invite parents, or another special adult, to join from  11:55-12:40 p.m.  We understand that some adults may not be able to join us in the middle of the day, and we encourage the other adults at the table to "adopt" all the students for that meal. The table will lead the  brachot  (blessings) and get to choose a Shabbat song. Next week, October 11, Table 27, Ms. Fine's table, will be honored. Please see the schedule  for when your child(ren)'s table(s) will be honored.

2020 Annual Benefit

We hope you will join us, next Friday, October 11 at 8:15 a.m. (after morning drop-off), for the Annual Benefit Kick-Off meeting. Come learn more about how to get involved and what the Annual Benefit entails.

We are looking for people who want to help spread Heilicher pride and get involved with the 2020 Annual Benefit. We need your help to build excitement for the event, serve as a sounding board on benefit issues, and sit on one of our benefit committees. The time commitment is not overwhelming - it usually entails just a few conveniently-scheduled meetings, over the next few months, with some additional emailing back and forth.

The benefit is taking place on Thursday, March 19, 2020. The benefit will honor Heilicher parents Nancy and Neil Fink. There are several committees where you can help serve to make the Annual Benefit successful for our school.

RSVP to Benefit Manager,  Ali Berdass  by October 10.
