BioNJ today submitted
comments today to the New Jersey Attorney General's office on proposed amendments to the State's limitation on prescriber compensation from pharmaceutical manufacturers. The underlying limitations -- better known as the Prescriber "Gift Ban" -- were formalized in January 2018 under the previous administration.
Our comments recognized that the proposed amendments would provide for an increase in the modest meal amount for dinners and exceptions toward the $10,000 cap for activities educational in nature, however, also noted that the ban itself could serve to further the "brain drain" seen in New Jersey's academic medicine and research communities in recent years.
