New Projects, Ideas and Directions from OA
Despite the continuing challenges facing us all, OA remain busy providing our full range of creative and professional services. The exciting projects illustrated below are a testament to the skill and continuing dynamism
of our clients, staff, fellow consultants and contractors.
New Civic Centre for Tidworth
OA have been instructed to develop a planning submission for a new £6 million Civic Centre and Police CPT Building in the centre of Tidworth, Wiltshire.
The new proposal will include a double height entrance space, Café, Main Hall, Function Rooms, Town Council Offices, Community Radio Facility
and Wiltshire Police staff facilities.
This is an exciting community led project and we very much look forward to working with Tidworth Town Council, Wiltshire Police and other stakeholders to develop a contemporary and dynamic design to sit within the heart of the town’ Andrew Brown (Partner-in-Charge).
A planning submission is programmed for early 2021.
Sports Hall and Pool Completes at St Hugh's
The recently completed Sports facilities at St Hugh's School, Carswell involved working around an existing sports hall, to create a phased development replacing an existing outdoor pool, demolishing the existing sports hall frontage and changing rooms, and creating a new facilies that provided changing rooms for indoor and outdoor sports. The project also included a new 20m indoor pool, staff accommodation, external teaching and viewing areas and flexible teaching/indoor sports activity spaces.

Planning Submitted for Brooklands Project
A new residential development creating a strong street frontage on
a continuation of the Brooklands residential development in East Milton Keynes. Situated next to the New High School, the development provides 33No. affordable flats in two blocks over 3 storeys. Within the buildings, there is also a new 140sqm Community Office.
A crisp modern and simple aesthetic was chosen, using materials sympathetic with the surrounding developments, to create an active and interesting street front.

Healthcare Achievements Through Lockdown and Beyond
OA continue to respond to the challenges set by the current pandemic and are currently working with several NHS trusts adapting departments to work effectively to separate and control Covid-19 workflows. We have increased our healthcare
team to service projects within three separate emergency departments
and two intensive care units.

This year we have seen the handover of a new 28 bed modular ward for Hillingdon Hospital. We are also working with Hillingdon Hospitals Charity to incorporate a standalone Maternity Bereavement Suite, providing discrete accommodation for women and their families. With both a delivery suite and a lounge, looking out over courtyard gardens, it creates a private and peaceful setting away from the clinical wards.

We are currently working closely with MTX contracts Ltd - acting as client advisor and lead architect - to deliver a three storey modular development to accommodate a new
16 bed ICU and 26 bed respiratory ward.

For East and North Herts NHS FT, we are working on a new nuclear medicine laboratory, a chemotherapy suite and an out patients department as part of an upgrade
programme for their Cancer Services.

Opening Christmas 2020, we are also working with Beard Construction to complete
a fast track programme for new Majors and Paediatric bays at Horton General
Hospital A&E department.
