Heather Hurd 5K Spooktacular

Help scare away distracted driving by joining us for the 10th Annual Heather L. Hurd 5K Spooktacular! Explore Harford's campus on a course that's great for runners and walkers alike. Children will delight in all the treats of the Children's Area, a costume contest, and the chance to take pictures with special guest characters. There will also be exhibitors and interactive displays for all ages.

Take a Hike!
This fall, make a point of checking out our two hiking and mountain biking trails! The trails are open from sunrise to sunset and provide an easy to moderate hike with a few steep sections.

Entrances to the west campus trails are at Prospect Mill Park, HCC’s Observatory, and the corner of Thomas Run Road and Jacob's Well. East campus trails can be accessed from the corner of Medical Hall Road and Thomas Run Road, by HCC’s Science Pond near the A Lot, and at the intersection of Graduate Drive and Cross Campus Drive.

HCC Student Appointed to MHEC
|
HCC student Giavanna Tserkis was sworn in as the 2018-19 Student Commissioner for the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). Gia, who will serve a one-year term, was nominated last semester by faculty and members of the Executive Leadership Team at the College. MHEC provides planning, supervision and coordination of Maryland's post-secondary education system. The Commission consists of twelve members, one of whom is a student, who are appointed by the Governor with Senate approval.

Experience a day in Old Town Alexandria, VA, a city full of history and beauty. Points of interest include a guided tour of Christ Church, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, a three-course lunch at The Wharf Restaurant on historic King Street, and then on to the Potomac waterfront to board a water taxi with inside and outdoor seating to cross the river for the ride home.

HCC Interns to Gain Experience in Finance Industry
Four local businesses, Freedom Federal Credit Union, Harford Mutual Insurance Company, The Kelly Group, and Key Title, Inc., are hosting four HCC graduates who were selected for the 4Financial Internship program at Harford Community College. The unique program is targeted to students at or near graduation from the College.
Kristen Butler, Amy Glab, Damian Mancuso, and Jennifer Koscinski (pictured, left to right) will begin their full-year, paid internships through the new program this month. Through three-month rotations in all four companies, the interns will gain hands-on, marketable experience while learning about five different areas of the finance industry.

Start your college planning early with a visit to HCC!
Faculty and staff from all programs will be on hand to share interactive presentations and to discuss opportunities for prospective students. Representatives from HCC's Admissions and Advising offices will be available to answer questions and to assist with the registration process. Campus tours will also be available.
Harford's annual
You Can Afford College
event, which is open to all students regardless of the college they will attend, will be held in conjunction with the Open House. Financial Aid representatives will be on hand to answer questions and assist you in completing the FAFSA.
