October Promotion

We are honoring our cats with orange and black fur in October with an adoption special.  Adult cats under 10 with orange or black fur may be adopted for $75, $130 for adult pairs of those colors, and $35 for seniors of orange or black.  Don't let the idea of adopting a cat spook you....celebrate Halloween by adopting a new friend this month!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.
Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Clinic News

Imax and Senor Tigger
Our clinic doctors and staff have to react quickly in emergencies.  We had a lovely 8 year old female cat named Jewel come in due to a  urinary blockage.  Because of the blockage she couldn't urinate, which is fatal if not treated immediately.  We did an emergency cystotomy (we removed multiple stones from her bladder).  She is now happily recovering at home and doing very well thanks to our quick action.

We also performed two emergency dental procedures on cats new to the shelter, Senor Tigger and Imax.  They were both quite ill, and recovery is going to take some time and lots of care.  Senor Tigger had to have a feeding tube, but he is stable and doing well.  In fact, he is eating on his own now and gaining weight!   Imax had to see a cardiologist as he went into heart failure after his treatment.   Our veterinarian was able to stabilize him until he could see the specialist.  Fortunately, he has only a mild heart condition which requires no action at this time.  We are able to perform state of the art veterinary treatments in our clinic, and we are saving lives and improving the quality of life all the time for our clients and our shelter cats.

Opt to Adopt Albacore

He is a very large, but sweet and easy going boy who loves attention.   He does not like other cats and should be the only pet. Albacore came to us after being abandoned by his owner and left in an apartment. The caring landlady found him and brought him to us. Albacore is just over 10 years old and is part of our Perpet-U- Care program.  We are trying to determine just how much he likes tuna!

Santa Paws Festival
December 1st and 2nd

Our Annual Santa Paws Festival will be held on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd at the Cat Care Society Shelter.

We will have our popular Holiday Market again and will feature our regular selection of holiday and cat related items including craft fair creations.  The Meow Mart will be well stocked, and visitors will be able to Spin-the-Wheel for free cat swag with a $10 store purchase.

In addition we will again have our Silent Auction baskets available - three on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Downstairs we will have our beloved Bake Sale and will have many yummy treats available this year!  It wouldn't be the same without Santa Paws himself, and he will make his annual visit with candy canes for the children.

We are now accepting clean, gently used or new cat themed or unique (no appliances, please) items for this holiday festival.  Please label anything you bring in to the shelter for Santa Paws and tell the Front Desk that it is for the festival.  If you have questions, please contact Amy Martin at [email protected].

This event is very family friendly...there is something for all ages! It is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce more of the community to our shelter and all that we do here to help cats in need.  All proceeds of this event benefit our cats!

September
Adoptions

September was a record month for adoptions, mostly because of all the kittens that we placed.  We found homes for 55 cats, 46 of which were kittens.  This has been a very prolific kitten season, and we are still admitting mothers and babies to the shelter.  Congratulations to all the kitties and their new families!

With the arrival of fall and the holidays on the way, we need to stock up our food bank.  Please help with a donation of food and/or litter.
With fall and winter approaching, it's time to think about year end giving decisions.  Please put Cat Care Society in your plans.
iCalmCat Music System Fundraiser
Our barbeque fundraiser was a great success.  Not only did visitors enjoy a tasty lunch...we raised enough money to get  calming music systems for all of our rooms!  These will help keep our kitties feeling safe and serene.  Read about icalmCat music.
