Jolene Johnson, UNMC

|
What is the future direction of your early childhood research?
"Future research would be continuing to research effective social/emotional practices and the impact of executive functioning as students enter school."
Why is early childhood research important?
"Early childhood research is important to demonstrate the impact of programming for policymakers, funders and K-12 educators."
How can effective collaboration enhance the research enterprise?
"Cross-campus collaboration and collaboration with other departments leads to differentiated thinking. A recent example of this is a collaborative project between UNMC, the UNO Service Learning Department, and the Douglas and Sarpy County Learning Communities. The project included using a two-generation approach of working with children, teachers and families to achieve shared outcomes."
