Ideas to Impact: $300,000 in School Grants to Excite Kids When They Come Back This Fall!
Thanks to your generosity, PCEF has already committed to funding nearly 100 programs next year, including 50 recently approved  School Grants.

From Playworks at Jeremy Ranch to Wild Wonders at Trailside to Robotics at TMJH and PCHS, your gifts allow PCEF to fund $300,000 in School Grants for the 2018 - 2019 school year.

Your contributions ensure the best opportunities for every student. Emily Billow just finished her freshman year at the University of Southern California, majoring in Media Arts & Practice and working as a Senior Producer for the student-run Trojan Vision.  "The classes I took at PCHS prepared me for  both the live broadcasting aspect and the organizational aspects of filming prerecorded  segments and interviews for the show. Those classes wouldn't have been  what they are without PCEF grants."

One Book One Community Moved to This Fall!

Need a summer reading suggestion? How about this fall's One Book One Community selection, The Rent Collector, by Camron Wright.

At the request of the PCHS English Department, One Book One Community (formerly Author-in-Residence) will be in mid-October, and we are thrilled they have chosen this award-winning novel.

Thanks to PCEF donors, we can offer this college level experience to PCHS students, and bring our entire community together around one book!

The Rent Collector  is the story of a young mother, Sang Ly, struggling to survive by picking through garbage in Cambodia's largest municipal dump. She embarks on a desperate journey to save her ailing son from a life of ignorance and poverty.

DACA Update

Thanks to many generous community members and a substantial gift from Zions Bank, 40 young people were able to renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) credentials this year.

DACA allows Dreamers who have completed or are enrolled in high school to obtain work permits. Research has shown that DACA has enabled more students to pursue higher education and make significant economic contributions to local, regional, and national economies.

PCEF's DACA Fund is still accepting donations. You may give here, and write DACA in the comments.
