Everywhere we look, there's color...
As we gaze over the mountains here in Vermont, there is a beauty at this time of the year that only we can appreciate. So many of us have either Mt. Mansfield or Camel's Hump in our daily view - how great is that? It's time for hikes, bikes, leaf peepers, long Sunday drives, apple picking and pumpkins. It's also time to dig out sweaters and gloves, hats and scarves. And with the weather changes, we start thinking seriously about our indoor projects - most importantly, our quilt projects. We need projects with color, and movement, with texture, and beauty. What is your next quilt? Do you need some help with color selection? Just the right fabric? That's why you come and see us - we're happy to help you take the next steps in your quilting journeys. Stop in soon, and show us what you're working on!

Halloween Haunt Tour 2018
 Grab some friends, and make plans for a fun weekend! This year's Halloween Haunt Tour is being held from October 26 through October 28. Tour tickets go on sale Friday, October 26, and are $4.00 each. The first 175 Tourists will receive a free Halloween Haunt Tour tote bag. The four stores in this mini-Shop Hop - A Quilter's Garden, Stowe Fabric & Yarn, Sunny Laurel Sisters, and Yankee Pride - are looking forward to seeing you! We'll have more details in our next newsletter.
Dimensions Block of the Month

You can't tell by our new fabric selections that cold weather is coming! Check out these bright, sweet pink prints - perfect for a little girl in your life. We've got some dress patterns in the shop that would look SO sweet using these fabrics!  Lilacs in Bloom by Benartex Look at these lovelies! Make the perfect bag for yourself or a friend, and use just two fabrics, or use all nine. Or make a pretty table runner with the border print (below) to get you through the cold winter. We can't wait to see what you do with these! 
 Effervescence by Robert Kaufman Wow! That was our first reaction to these gorgeous prints! The two colorways on the left are actually from one bolt of fabric, and the two on the right are from another. So you get lots of color choice - more bang for your buck. Don't wait too long on these - they're going to fly out the door!  Twilight by Moda Yet another line that conjures thoughts of spring. Make a pretty throw for your couch, a lovely bag, or some great home dec items to brighten your space.  With a Twist by Hoffman Fabrics Hoffman continues to amaze us with their digital prints - the color and layering are just gorgeous! Judy took home some of the light print (top in photo), and a matching fat quarter grouping to make a new sample for the shop. We can't wait to see it when it's done!  What Do the Animals Say? by Robert Kaufman It's always fun to make something for kids to enjoy, and also to learn from. This line accomplishes both! Use the panel (below), and a few of the complementary prints (at left) to whip up an easy quilt - one both kids and parents will love.

Carol Armstrong is a big name in the world of hand appliqu
é - nature is her inspiration, and she creates very realistic-looking flora and fauna. Her new book,
The Big Book of Pretty & Playful Appliqué, contains more than 150 designs - there really is something for everyone to stitch! A word of caution - brush up on your skills before you tackle the projects in here - there are lots of small pieces!
