Social Hour for Social Issues: October 10th
By Melissa Hovey

Social Capital - do you know what it is, how to get it and why it is important? During our Social Hour for Social Issues we'll explore Social Capital: Building A Culture of Equity, Creating Opportunity & Inspiring Action.

Social Capital is important for creating greater access to opportunity for women and their families. Social Hour for Social Issues will explore definitions of social capital and showcase examples of programs and approaches for extending connections and opportunities. Where do you as a Women's Impact Fund Member, fit it the social capital space. Are you leveraging opportunities to engage all women as change agents and providing pathways to transformative leadership?

Leadership Luncheon Series
By Pia Millican

The "Board of Advisors Leadership Luncheon" series has begun!
Here are a few takeaways from the September luncheon with Claire Tate and Dr. Joan Lorden:
  • Don't be afraid to take risks when it comes to leadership.
  • The skills you learn and use on Women's Impact Fund committees are marketable and transferable.
  • We have "Super Women" among us. We need to share their stories so we all understand how our members help shape the Charlotte area communities.
Volunteers Needed! Tutor Charlotte

We are in need of 8-10 more volunteers to fill our volunteer spots with Tutor Charlotte to read with a kindergarten class at Billingsville Elementary. The commitment is  90 minutes of Active Reading training and 45 minutes once a week on Tuesdays at 11:15 at   Billingsville Elementary.

Tutoring begins in October.  Sign up now to become part of this impactful initiative!
