Want to Make Meaningful Connections With Local Organizations?
|
A few of our Como Park neighbors organized a free family friendly open house connecting local organizations with community members who may benefit from what they have to offer. The Como Connect Neighborhood Resource Fair will be on October 13 from 10am to 2pm at Bethel Lutheran Church (670 W. Wheelock Parkway). Here are several of the many offerings:
- Stretch your limbs and your knowledge of aging in place with Como Park Falcon Heights Block Nurse Program as we do chair yoga
- Find information on childcare options with Think Small
- Learn about all the wonderful things happening at Frog Town Farm
- Understand how leaves have a tremendous adverse impact on Como Lake and how you can help us improve the lake from the Como Active Citizen Network
- Provide your thoughts and ideas on how we can recover and enhance the environmental health of Como Lake by talking to the Capitol Region Watershed District
- Check out "Do It Yourself" tutorials with experts from the Saint Paul Tool Library
- Learn about opportunities to directly improve the environment, compost organic waste and Adopt-A-Drain from the Como Community Council
And there are many other noteworthy organizations participating at this event who hope to build mutually beneficial relationships with you. Everyone is invited to stop by, say hi and learn more about what our community has to offer.
