We've Got Speakers, Yes We Do
The Triennial Meeting's keynote speakers were announced in the last e-Communique. But there's lots more to share about the line-up of speakers who'll be in Austin to help inform and inspire us. Here's a sneak peek from the organizers of the ECW Welcome Dinner on July 5:
(wel)Come to the energy of Triennial Meeting in Austin!
(wel)
Come to an exploration of how God calls all his people to Stay Woke!
Together we'll join with our sisters and friends from across our Church as we hear from a trio of speakers.

Together we'll make new connections to start our time together at Triennial Meeting and begin friendships that will last after we leave for home. Together we'll explore the factors within us and around us that impact how we move as Christians in our modern world: human frailty, mission, and reconciliation. Together can't begin without you - reserve your place at the ECW Welcome Dinner today

BYOB(reakfast) Speaker Series
Then there's our three-part BYOB (Bring Your Own Breakfast) series. Grab your favorite breakfast beverage as well as some fruit, or yogurt, or a muffin and join us in our meeting space in the convention center (Ballroom A) for some well-informed speakers who have ideas to share
and news you can use to further ministries.
Here's a BYOB sneak peek: On Saturday, July 7th from 8-9 a.m., Yewande Austin, an artist and social activist, will talk about her mission oriented work that incorporates the themes of diversity and change.

Worshiping at General Convention: Welcoming People of "All Stripes and Types"
By design, the liturgies of the 79th General Convention reflect the diversity of The Episcopal Church and embody the Jesus Movement - that loving, liberating and life-giving way of Jesus Christ. Some services will be held during the day while others will take place in the early evening. (The times and locations of these services are noted on our
Triennial Meeting calendar.) All worship offerings will go to
Episcopal Relief and Development, Episcopal Migration Ministries, and Episcopal HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universities).
On Sunday, July 8th, convention goers are encouraged to go out into the Austin Convocation of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and visit one of its worshiping communities. Each church has prepared a description of itself in its own words, and you are invited to find one that speaks to you. The list as well as information about transportation to and from the churches can be
found here.
A simple Eucharist will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on the 8th in the convention center (exhibit hall 5, level 1) for those who don't visit a local parish.

Helpful Hints
The Episcopal Church's Office of the
General
Convention has released
a mobile event
app
for the upcoming 79th
General
Convention.
Powered by Eventmobi, the app is compatible with cell phones, tablets, and other data devices, and offers, among other things,
schedules, maps, worship bulletins, and an Austin restaurant guide.
Information related to the 49th ECW Triennial Meeting is also provided.
The
app
is accessed two ways:
Go to
https://eventmobi.com/79gc/
This opens it as a website on any device.
Or, download the Eventmobi
app
from the appstore and input the event code: 79gc
.
Here's a tip: Make sure to visit the "Worship Bulletins" section of the app. Because a goal of General Convention is to be paper-free, the only way to get bulletins is to use a handheld device during the services or print the bulletins for yourself.
