The 2020-2021 NFJG TOUR Season has kicked off in fine fashion with three tournaments already in the books. Record membership and Tournament participation for the start of the ‘Fall Tournament Series" has set the scene for what looks to be a very productive, busy and demanding year for the NFJG TOUR.
On November 1, 2020 a full field of 60 players hosted the inaugural “BILL STRAUB SR. Adult-Junior Championship" at Amelia National Country Club in honor of our Friend and late partner Bill Straub. The lovely Louise Straub and many close Friends were on hand to play with and congratulate all participants and our lucky winners. A great time was had by all.
Many thanks to Head Professional Mike Cooney, the Membership at Amelia National and all of our participants and sponsors for their outstanding support.
Our future is gleaming and filled with some really cool and exciting events. Coming up in November/December are two events at the World Golf Village, a trip to Plantation Bay, followed by a weekend stay at Mission Inn Resort and Club in “HOWEY IN THE HILLS” for the a great weekend of golf at some very respectable pricing. Play in the adult-junior or play in your own adult group. The Choice is yours. Just let me know soon.
Prior to the holidays the TOUR will host the exciting “PAR-3 Championship at Palm Valley Golf Club. PGA TOUR Player Russell Knox will be in the field to play with our Bill Straub and Mission Inn Adult-Junior Winners and then the New Year will bring in the 2021 North Florida Junior Amateur being played at JAX Beach Golf Club.
At the “King and the Bear Open” and the “Hall of Fame Invitational” players will give it a shot in a “Closest to the Pin” contest for a $500 scholarship. Players will not only compete for division championships, but they will also compete for higher level golf opportunity. The TOUR is always on the move and we’re always looking for something special to make it more rewarding and attractive.
Our mission is to provide golf opportunity for our juniors at an affordable pricing while creating higher level golf opportunity for our members, but our goal is to retain on tour all our area best players and up and comers to result in the best junior tour outside the state tours in the nation. The larger and stronger our fields the more opportunity will be available for our local players. LET”S GROW OUR AREA GOLF TOUR TOGETHER!
Thanks for your support and we’ll see you on the links!
