Guest Speaker: City Councilman Matt Schellenberg, District 6, will speak on road improvements in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville as well as issues City Council will face in the Spring elections.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Last week our guest speaker was Ed Dean, radio host on WBOB Radio. He provided some thought-provoking commentary on local and national political issues. You can catch his show weekdays at 6:00 am on AM 600 & FM 101.1.

Special thanks to our FirstAtlantic Bank members for hosting our Meet-a-Member Networking Event last Thursday. We had a great time and will look forward to the next one.

5TH ANNUAL CLAY SHOOT - OCT 13

The 5th Annual YAP JROTC Charity Clay Shoot will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018. The event includes 12 & 20 gauge ammunition for shooters, 100 sporting clays and BBQ lunch catered by The Stumbling Steer BBQ. All proceeds benefit the JROTC Scholarship Program. MONTHLY GOLF OUTING - OCT 19

St. Johns Golf & Country Club is an extraordinary place. The 18-hole Clyde Johnston-designed course has just the right amount of challenge for novice and avid golfers alike. Delicately carved out of a pine forest, the course at St. Johns offers five sets of tees. Depending on wind conditions, the 18 hole course can be gentle or a real bear.

We are seeking volunteers for the build of this year's Veteran's Day float. Times are as follows:

Float Repositioning Party

Friday, October 19 at 4:00 pm at KwikPrint Manufacturing ( 4868 Victor St). We'll load the trailer and move it to Standard Feed & Seed ( 1236 Kings Rd).

Float Build Party # 1

Saturday, October 20 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm at Standard Feed & Seed.

Float Build Party # 2

Saturday, November 3 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm at Standard Feed & Seed.

Veteran's Day Parade is Sunday, November 11 at 11:11 am.

MONTHLY TABLE TALKS

Remember that we are holding our monthly "Table Talk" every third Wednesday of the month. At these meetings, we will forgo having a Spotlight Speaker and instead use the time to facilitate networking and business growth directly from your lunch table, using a set of structured discussion questions. Our next Table Talk will be Wednesday, October 17.

ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING RFP

The Southside Business Men's Club seeks proposal for contracted bookkeeping and accounting services. The Club is legally required to advertise a public notice every five years. All applicants must have relevant nonprofit experience and be a member of Southside Business Men's Club for the duration of the contract. Application deadline is October 31, 2013.
