On 13-15 March 2018, 35 BHL partner representatives from 11 countries gathered in Los Angeles for the 2018 BHL Annual Meeting, co-hosted by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) and the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden.

In addition to the business portion of the meeting, a series of symposia allowed attendees to hear from both users and partners about BHL's impact on science and projects to mobilize scanning efforts worldwide.  Hosts Richard Hulser (NHMLAC) and Susan Eubank (L.A. Arboretum) also arranged exemplary tours for meeting attendees at the museum, the gardens, the La Brea Tar Pits, and The Huntington.

At the close of the meeting, during a Hollywood-style reveal worthy of the Oscars, the result of the Member vote on the host for next year's meeting was announced. The winner? Cornell University! We look forward to gathering in Ithaca, New York for the 2019 BHL Annual Meeting!
