When we help others, we help ourselves. This was made even more apparent this weekend at our Phoenix Volunteer Workshop. In discussing the reason DNA volunteers give back, it was clear that they feel they are the ones getting something out of it. What an incredible program we get to be a part of. Donation in itself is an incredible gift to give, and yet donor families that I speak with talk about all that they have been given, stemming from their loved one’s generosity. It is a circle proving the limitless potential of humanity to help one another. In so many ways, volunteering does this for us and I am proud to be a part of it. I hope that you are too.

We have had a great month, thanks to our wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers helped make the most of donation by tabling at Care Expo, Chicanos por La Causa, El Tour Loop the Loop, Emergency Preparedness Expo and Tucson Pride. We are especially appreciative of Michelle Montijo and her family for helping at a tabling event in Douglas with short notice! Passion, positivity and eagerness are the values we strive for at DNA, and Michelle and her family set a perfect example!

Pinnacle Awards
Donate Life America has selected DNA as the winner of two Pinnacle Awards.

DNA's submissions for "Annual Volunteer Training Program" and "Maximizing Donation through Vehicle Registration Renewal" both won in their categories.

Congratulations to Ashley Siegel and Claudia Flaherty for the hard work they put into these innovations!

Winners were announced in August and will be presented at the Donate Life America Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon, during the Awards Dinner Wednesday, Oct. 3. In addition, DNA will present the programs at a breakout session.
