Northfield Park Re-opens this Saturday

The NRH community is invited to celebrate the re-opening of Northfield Park on Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. The event will include: ribbon cutting program and comments, musical entertainment by NRH's Scott Pearce, basketball clinic, tennis drills, inaugural softball tournament, and a police versus fire sand volleyball tournament. Hot dogs and chips will be served (while supplies last), the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will have popcorn and Kona Ice will be on-site with snow cones.

Northfield Park, located at 7804 Davis Boulevard, is one of the city's four original parks, having opened in 1985. After a 10-month redevelopment and reconstruction, the Northfield Park renovation project has improved aging park facilities including lighted softball fields, sand volleyball courts, lighted tennis courts, a 7,700 sq ft playground, basketball court, pavilions, trails, landscaping, picnic tables, benches and other infrastructure. This extensive renovation was funded by half-cent sales tax for park development, park impact fees paid by new development, and a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission. For information on Northfield Park visit www.nrhtx.com/parks. Questions may be directed to the Parks Department at 817-427-6620 or nrhpard@nrhtx.com.

Water, Sewer Rate Changes Effective Nov. 1

Beginning November 1, 2018, the City of North Richland Hills will implement changes to water and sewer rates. The rate adjustments are necessary due to increasing operations and maintenance costs and will allow us to continue delivering high-quality, reliable and safe water and sewer services to the community. The impact of the rate adjustments on an average residential customer who uses 10,000 gallons of water per month will be approximately $5.54 per month, which is an increase of 5.57 percent.
