SILENT AUCTION
Sunflower Illusions Quilt
Calvary's Mission & Membership Committee is extending an invitation to both the Calvary and Northminster congregations to participate in a very special fundraiser to support the Heifer International Organization.

This beautiful 60 x 61" quilt, which was made by hand by Ruthanne Lungociu and kindly donated, will be on display every Sunday in the month of October during Calvary's coffee hour.
With the quilt will be an auction sheet where you can place your name, a phone number, and your bid amount. Encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to participate and support this great cause. Information about the Heifer International Organization can be found in Fellowship Hall.
Another Opportunity to Minister
Calvary's Mission & Membership is asking both congregations to donate food items to Thanksgiving Baskets Downtown , a 501(c)(3) that unites faith communities and civic organ-izations in Canton to support the under-served population with food at Thanksgiving.

TRUNK or TREAT !
Sunday, October 27,
3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Outreach Committee will be hosting Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the west parking lot. This is a great opportunity to interact with nearby young families.

We need volunteers to decorate the trunks of their cars with a Halloween theme. There are lots of ideas on line and some stores even sell kits of materials. We also need volunteers to provide and pass out candy. Dress in costume or your favorite fall attire and join us.

It should be a lot of fun!

Have you ever considered this?
It's time for many of us to take a distribution from our 401k accounts. You can make a gift directly to our church with the Qualified Charitable Dis-tribution. Information on how to do this is listed below.
This type of gift not only supports our church, but also helps fulfill the required minimum distribution for those over 70 1/2 years old.

QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION from your IRA

To Qualify:
  • Donors must be 70 1/2 or older at the time they make their gift.
  • The gift must be made directly from your qualified IRA to the church.
  • Because the funds are transferred directly to the church, they can be excluded from taxable income.
  • QCDs are limited to the amount that would otherwise be taxed as ordinary income.
  • Your gift must be made by December 31, 2019 in order to count for this calendar year.
