Please join us for the 11th Annual JT Walk & Beach Party on Sunday, October 7th at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The Franklin Johnston Group has proudly supported the JT Walk since the beginning and looks forward to another great year.
It will be an exciting day with family-friendly activities, including a family fun zone, King Neptune's treasure hunt, all culminating with a great beach concert featuring Buckshot, Cheap Thrills, Guava Jam, and BJ Griffin and the Galaxy Groove.
Thank you to those who have supported the walk in the past and continue to support this year. Donations raised this year will fund critical research and studies to help find a cure for a disease that impacts families across Hampton Roads and the world.

United Way of South Hampton Roads Day of Caring
 Our team members went above and beyond supporting the United Way of South Hampton Roads Day of Caring. The Day of caring supports local non-profit and public service agencies in the Hampton Roads community by connecting teams of volunteers to various improvement projects throughout the area.
Nonprofit organization that benefited from the Day of Caring included Equi-Kids, ForKids, the Foodbank, The Salvation Army, the YWCA, the YMCA, H.E.R. Shelter, Children's Harbor and multiple local elementary schools. Thank you to all of the volunteers for making our community a better and more beautiful place to live.

Hillside Senior Apartments
TFJG was awarded the management agreement by MRK Partners to oversee
Hillside Senior Apartments. HH Venture LP, a Maryland limited Partnership led by MRK Partners and operated by a Maryland native, recently purchased the Hyatt House Hotel located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and transformed the former hotel into a senior community comprised of 140 one and two-bedroom apartment homes. These brand new apartment homes featuring fully-equipped kitchens, designer shaker-style cabinets, spa-inspired bathrooms, along with a wide array of resort-class. Now branded as Hillside Senior Apartments, this new community has already welcomed over a dozen new residents ages 62 and greater. With Montgomery County housing costs rising, Hillside provides premium quality at an affordable monthly rental rate. The location of this community aids seniors that have historically needed to commute to the city to visit loved ones, and that otherwise may have been priced out of living in the region.

High fives to our team members at Southern Pine Apartments in Virginia Beach for their outstanding customer service. A resident recently said, "These apartments are stunning! So spacious and our vaulted ceilings are awesome. Well made and properly insulated, we live on the third floor and our apartment has stayed ice cold without breaking the bank. The office staff are amazing. Such sweet girls, and genuinely caring. The bowling alley is awesome and made for a great baby shower spot. We have been here for almost 6 months and i just love it. The maintenance staff is great. Willie and Jordan are my dudes. They fix everything super quick are always friendly. " -

Josh was nominated by Senior Community Manager, Destiny Pardo, for all the extra steps he takes to make Somerset Pointe a great place to live. Destiny wrote: "I have had the pleasure of working with him more these past couple of months and he is phenomenal. He goes above and beyond all the time and truly dedicates himself to that property. He goes out of his way to make warm calls to residents to follow up on work orders or their recent move in and decided to start doing so without being asked. He genuinely cares about the residents and the performance of the property and is such a team player, always willing to take on additional tasks to help others. He has definitely been part of the Solution is his short time with TFJ and I cannot wait to see how far he goes."
Charles Shelton, Maintenance Supervisor, Charles Place
Charles was nominated by his Community Manager, GeorgeAnne Keith. GeorgeAnne wrote: "Charles always jumps in to assist. Not only for me, but the residents feel like they can count on him. We had a barbecue for the re
sidents and not only did Charles cook for everyone but he was more than willing to take special requests. He is constantly looking for things to do. One day when maintenance was caught up, I went looking for Charles and found him stripping and waxing the walls. He comes and checks the property at night and also goes out of his way to check on our residents whenever he can. We have a 96 year old resident who he checks on constantly, checking her apartment for trip hazards or anything unsafe. He loves Charles Place and all of our residents. He is very proud and maintains it so people know how much he cares."

Amy was nominated by her Community Manager, Ashley Armstrong, for her hard work during the lease up of The Arbors at Culpeper, as well as her dedication to making the community a great place to live. Ashley wrote: "She goes above and beyond for our residents and makes it a top priority to follow up wit them to make sure their move went well and make them feel welcomed in their new home. She has dedicated herself to this property with positivity and commitment during this lease up by working long days and even late evenings. Without her, we would not have been able to achieve such success in the few short months that we have been open. She has successfully helped approve and move in 122 residents since we opened May 1st. Amy embodies all the TFJG core values and I could not have chosen a better assistant for The Arbors at Culpeper. I cannot wait to see her continued success with The Franklin Johnston Group.
GeorgeAnne Keith, Community Manager, Charles Place
GeorgeAnne was nominated by her Senior Community Manager, Jordan Hudson, for representing TFJG's core value "Teamwork" everyday! Jordan wrote: "GeorgeAnne is the perfect example of "Teamwork - Make Something Happen". When I asked GeorgeAnne if she would be able to help me out with the most recent transition at Curtis Arms, she did not hesitate one bit to say "yes". On our first day on site she came in and immediately jumped right in to make sure that all compliance related items were in the process of being completed. On top of handling items at Curtis Arms, she has managed to handle her own property with no issues at all. We are a team here in Rhode Island and GeorgeAnne never forgets or lets anyone forget that. She is always so positive, patient, and always willing to help out with whatever she can, whenever she can. GeorgeAnne thank you for making my job easy and always having everyone's back. You are so appreciated.

On September 11th the team at River Run Senior Apartments invited local members assigned to Station 20 Fire Department to a celebration of service.

B-12, N-30, O-14! These calls and many laughs and sighs can be heard coming from the residents at The Crossings at Heritage in North Carolina every Thursday, when residents gathers for their weekly Bingo game.
