Call to Action: Vaccine Prioritization for New Yorkers with I/DD
Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are at a disproportionately high risk of contracting and dying from COVID-19. It is essential that they are prioritized in an equitable plan for vaccine distribution.

Governor Cuomo and the NYS Department of Health must ensure that people with I/DD served in New York's residential programs and the dedicated frontline staff who support them are included in Phase 1 of New York's COVID-19 vaccination plan.

President Jack Kowalcyk recently shared a strong public message calling for inclusion of people with I/DD in the state's vaccination plan, and The Arc New York continues to advocate with state leaders on this critical issue.

Now our decision makers need to hear from you.

Tell your New York state and federal representatives that New Yorkers with I/DD will not be forgotten or discriminated against. Quickly send a message to your elected representatives using our online advocacy tool here

Make sure your voice is heard and pass along this call to others in New York!
