Happy Herb Day!

Herb Day is one of our favorite days of the year. On May 5th educational events and celebrations of all things herbal were held across the country.

This year on Herb Day we were excited to co-sponsor EarthFest in conjuction with Basil Bandwagon's 25th anniversary celebration at historic Dvoor Farm in Flemington, New Jersey. Live music, food, environmental education and wellness information - weather was great and it was well attended.  A wonderful day shared by all!

Each year we donate a portion of sales from one day's orders near Herb Day to United Plant Savers, an amazing organization with the mission to protect native medicinal plants of the USA and Canada and their habitat, ensuring a renewable supply for generations to come. If you placed an order on Friday May 4th, you will have contributed too.

Dragon's Dream Won't Put You To Sleep, Sorry

After our changes to the new roller ball glass bottle and, from balm to oil, awareness of this amazing product has grown, along with the number of people asking if it is a sleep aid.

Resulting speculation about what Dragons would dream about aside, the name Dragon's Dream is a fanciful name rather than a description of its benefits. Inspired by martial arts traditions, Dragon's Dream Oilâ„¢ is a penetrating, warming oil. This therapeutic blend of botanicals and essential oils, for external use only, is perfect after strenuous exercise.

Video with David

Vegtv.com interviewed David at Expo West. It's short, and worth your time to see David's explanation of the Spagyric Processing we use to keep the beneficial mineral content, which ordinary tinctures lack, in H&A tinctures.
Herb Walk Recap

More than

60 people enjoyed the AHPA-ABC 2018 HerbWalk
the day before Expo West. David Winston and other renowned herbalists led small groups through the Fullerton Arboretum's 26-acre botanical garden, describing the culinary, medicinal and traditional uses of the collection of plant species from around the globe. We do this the day before every Expo East and Expo West, so please join us next time!

David Winston's Students: Where Are They Now?

For each newsletter we interview one of David Winston's former s
tudents to find out what motivated them to learn about herbal medicine and how they are using their training.

Our interview with Traute Ringwald in 2010 remains one of our most memorable, so we decided to share it again for those who may have missed it. We called her to get an update on the last eight years. Not surprisingly, she's doing interesting new things.

David's past students use their training in a variety of ways: clinical work, research, hospital care, product manufacturing, retailing and educating.

Thinking about enrolling in the September 2018 class?  You can attend the two-year course in person or online. Classes are held once a week on Tuesday evenings.
