Dear Jones Families,

I hope you have all had a relaxing and refreshing Spring Break.

This is always an exciting time of year for Jones College Prep. By the time you receive this, we will have invited our future JCP Eagles, the Class of 2022, to join our school community. Our official Freshman Welcome program is on Monday, April 9 (last names A-L) and Wednesday, April 11 (last names M-Z), 6:00 - 8:00 pm, in the Robin Bennett Theater. It is hard to believe that these new Jones students will be helping us inaugurate our 21st year as Jones College Prep!

April is a big month for our current undergraduates, as well. All Juniors will take the SAT on Tuesday, April 10, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors do not have school on that day so we can focus of helping our Juniors do their very best on this important college admissions exam. The Freshmen and Sophomores will take the PSAT on Tuesday, April 17, to help them be prepared for the SAT in their Junior year.

And let's not forget our Seniors, the Class of 2018! On Tuesday, April 17, we will be walking to the lakefront to have the class panoramic picture taken by the Buckingham Fountain.   (Permission forms need to be in by Thursday, April 12.) All Seniors  will be attending a special class meeting on Monday, April 23, during Ac Lab, to learn more about their end-of-year schedule, especially Graduation on June 14.  Detailed information will be mailed that week to parents of Seniors.

With all that's going on at JCP, please remember to check our website ( jonescollegeprep.org) and calendar for news and upcoming events.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time at pjpowers@cps.edu or 773-534-8606. For news about our school, please follow me on Twitter @PJOSEPHPOWERS.

Sincerely,

30 Chaperones Needed to accompany Seniors
to Buckingham Fountain Tuesday, April 17th

On Tuesday, April 17th the senior class will head out to take their annual Class Panoramic Picture at Buckingham Fountain! We need about 30 chaperones to accompany the students as they make the short walk over. This is a great opportunity for senior parents to get a few candid shots of their student with his/her peers for their own scrapbook and memories ... but having a senior is not required
to be part of this grand JCP tradition!

Please email FOJ
to volunteer for this event!

We will meet in the lobby at 8:40 am and return
about 11:00 am. Hope to see all of you there!

JCP Winning Water Polo Teams!

On Tuesday, March 20 both teams played
Lincoln Park High School at JCP.
The Men's team dominated,
winning 17-6.
The Women's team followed suit,
winning 15-6.

Thursday, March 22, both teams took on Northside College Prep at JCP. The Men took an early lead however, Northside came back and tied the game in the fourth period, 8-8. An amazing shot near the end of the game gave us a sweet 9-8 win. The Women's team came out strong and stayed there the entire game,
bringing home an 11-4 win.

Congratulations to Jones Boys and Girls
