NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING OF 
THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH OF WORCESTER

Sunday, June 3, 2018, 11:15 am in the Sanctuary

Notice Pursuant to the by-laws of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, the Annual Meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester (UUCW) will take place at 11:15 am, Sunday, June 3, 2018 in the church sanctuary.
 
The meeting is open to all, however, voting is restricted to members of record of the UUCW. This is an important event in the ongoing business and life of our congregation and reflects the principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.
 
During this meeting we will vote on minutes of past congregational meetings, the slate of church leaders to be elected, the FY 2018 budget, and other items that may be posted in the Annual Report.

Walk for the Homeless with Team UUCW!

Following church on May 20th I hope to have a LARGE turnout of friends and families as we Walk for the Homeless.   We can carpool from the church at 1:30 or meet at Elm Park at 1:45.  It's a fun 3 mile walk that goes past the IHN Shelter (you can stop in for cold water and to use the bathroom and check out the shelter!).  It ends back at ... continue reading

Upcoming Events at UUCW

Separate FATHER/DAUGHTER AND FATHER/SON CAMPING EVENTS are scheduled for September 1/2 (sons/boys) and September 2/3 (daughters/girls). Activities include cooking on a campfire with games and story-telling. The event is open to those identifying as the appropriate gender, and any young people that they know well and would like to bring. The annual yard sale is set for Saturday, June 9th this year.  So, please start thinking about tucking away some goodies now that you would be willing to donate.  For those new to it this includes clothing, housewares, artwork, electronics, toys, books, CD's, sports equipment and furniture - in other words, everything!!!.  Everything needs to be clean and in usable condition.  We are also always looking for volunteers so if ... continue reading

It's time to register for Ferry Beach.  September 14-16, 2018.  Many of us begin the church year with a weekend of retreat, reunion, and reflection at Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine (http://www.ferrybeach.org).  We join together with friends from First Unitarian Church for beach walks, volleyball, time to rest, a talent show, and even a campfire! The ChicoBags that we've been selling to raise money for our Refugee Ministry make perfect gifts for thoughtful citizens of our planet, and the proceeds go to supporting our wonderful family - the Ebasombes - as they settle into their new home and culture. Ongoing Meetings
The UUCW Men's Group meets on the fourth Friday of the month in Meeting Room 1 (Across from Aaron's Office) from  7 to 9 pm. All those who consider themselves male are welcome. The meetings start with a check-in, in which each man is given an opportunity to  share something about themselves and to ask the group for support or advice about any concerns. Join us Wednesday, June 7, 2018 at Noon for our Annual Lunch with the Minister Picnic! All are welcome.  Please bring a salad to share.  Dessert and beverage will be provided. The Reader's Unite Afternoon book group will meet following the Picnic.

Do you like to read? Join the Readers Unite (Afternoon Book Group of UUCW) We meet on the first Wednesday of the month around 1:15pm following the Minister's Luncheon.

Open to anyone interested in meditation, the group meets weekly and you can attend as available. We meditate for 30 minutes and then read from a meditation book and discuss the practice and how to integrate it into our lives. Occasionally we will listen to a talk from a meditation teacher and discuss as well. If you have questions contact Wendy O'Leary.
