WPRA seeks email newsletter editors
Do you have organizing and editing skills? If so, you can help the WPRA achieve its mission of informing the community. Send an email to [email protected] to volunteer to serve as one of several co-editors of WPRA's weekly Neighborhood Update email newsletter. It will only take a few hours a week (on your own schedule) in the month or two a year in which you'd serve. We'll train you.

Correction
In last weekend's Special Update about the Civic Center, we inadvertently stated that the city acquired the Julia Morgan/YWCA building in 2003. In fact, the city acquired it in 2013.

The work has started and will be completed by the end of August. Each property owner along the route will be kept informed if their water must be shut off as the project progresses. Comments, questions, or concerns should be addressed to the PWP Project Manager Adolfo Vargas at (626) 744-4331 or

Joseph Stoddard's art on display at upcoming exhibit
Local artist Joseph Stoddard, whose watercolors we feature at the top of nearly every Neighborhood Update, will exhibit his study sketches, compositional explorations, field observations, and watercolor paintings, all assembled into a single composition and mounted onto a cradled hardboard panel. The art describes the exciting urban landscapes, iconic architecture, and landmarks of downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena. This exhibit features 45 collages and a 6' x 8' canvas Giclee in four panels of a pen and ink sketch of downtown Los Angeles as seen from the observation deck of City Hall. The exhibit will run from June 30-July 27. The opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at Judson Studios, 143 Pasadena Ave., South Pasadena.

Pasadena Heritage cordially invites you to Pasadena's biggest and best block party on the world-famous historic Colorado Street Bridge - a night of music, dancing, vintage cars, children's activities, beverages and food, and more from  6 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14.
