This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, family/cultural issues, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. Start Smart: A Salary Negotiation Workshop for College Students

The gender pay gap continues to persist and disproportionately affects women and other gender marginalized people & can be greatly affected by other social identities, like race. Research has shown that the gender pay gap is reflected in the salaries of people just one year out of college; that's is why it's crucial to establish a fair salary early on. In this workshop you will gain confidence in your ability to negotiate through facilitated discussion and role-play and learn skills that you will use for the rest of your working life. Refreshments provided.

This year, COA's theme is the Swahili word, 'Safari' which honors the journeys and narratives of the African diaspora made by African people globally. This event is FREE for everyone!
